No Gmo

while trying to find
the founding fathers
without bothering
if George W
(not Bush)
separated
female
from
male

i knew that the oh
so what do you
know count
these beans
declaration
was written
on hemp
paper not
because

we wanted to supercede
that what would come
to pass with recent
states saying don't
keep toking cause
i'm jonesin so
pass the
weed
we'd

all love to share Dylan
and the Band singing
Rockin Chair but
i also became
aware that
that same
page of
was in
fact

written with the ink
of the American
pokeweed so
glorifying the
british born
fathers for
their sons
George W
Bush

should thank his
being by the
hemp lines
that kept
Bush Sr
afloat
on the
ropes
of his

parachute

I Call Him Fred

I Call Him Fred

Fred does it all
He is asexual and marvellous
Fred knows just about everything
naturally Fred is rather studious

Fred cares not if you die
and he can see in the dark
there, sitting on his celestial perch
Fred's is the magical imaginary spark

Fred knows your pleasures
your secrets, thoughts and worse
Yet Fred is not so easily impressed
and oh, defies gravity, of course

Fred hears everything you say
in jest or barbarous anger
Fred will never ever forget your sins
And yeah, Fred's been here forever

Fred is my ancient deity
with a penchant for pure white clothing
although I never seen my Fred
non-existence is still curiously imposing

So lets call him Fred
or any name you'd choose
pretend people are just like that
the very essence of woowoo

I'd say, don't be so disappointed
at his failed omnipresence
there are five-thousand to choose from
one may easily supercede
Fred's obsolescence

Premium MemberReading

Remember when you first learned how to read
That youthful hunger, only books could feed
How confidence was gained along with speed
And knowledge was the essence of our greed

Some nights while reading, how you'd beg and plead
At bedtime, mom or dad would intercede
When on occasion, tears would supercede
A chapter's end, they'd lovingly concede

Now looking back, those books helped us succeed
These days still cracking books to fill that need
Each book we read, another planted seed
Another dream, imagination freed

Fruit of the Spirit

Come near,
so you can hear
Come near,
let me whisper life in your ear
Come close,
let me reveal a secret to you
The Garden of Eden is within your grasp,
reach out and taste the fruit
The fruit of the Spirit
is the divine food of holiness
It's the essence of God given to the blessed
Come taste the nectar of the fruit ---

Love:
it's the sweetest gift of God showered from above
Joy:
it's the baptism of happiness given to every girl and boy
Peace:
letting go of hurt and pain is the most gracious release
Longsuffering:
is the prince ... Tolerance is the queen ... Patience is the king
Gentleness:
is the parent of every tenderly given caress
Goodness:
are the godly children of sacred obedience
Faith:
is your beloved spouse, your beloved soulmate
Meekness:
increases your compassion, as the anger grows less
Temperance:
is your best friend with the twin named Abstinence

There is no law given
that can supercede any of these
If you desire the pleasure of holy living,
then eat of the fruit of the Spirit liberally

The New Year

The New Year

Tradition gives us Auld Lang Syne
Pursuing resolutions that are benign
We seek to supercede the past
For the next to be better than the last

The past is, "water-under-the-bridge"
Yesterday we can't change or abridge
Faults and failures could dominate
If we permit them to dictate

To error is human, we all know
Our true efforts, we may fail to show
Our intentions may be to exuberate
Yet failure has seemed to overtake

Let failures be a stepping stone
They are a medium for us to atone
Regard it as a second chance
Future endeavors it may enhance

Let us be vigilant of past mistakes
And set our goal on higher stakes
Strive to be tolerant of our fellowman
Their issues, to better understand

Each day God grants us, let us use
That opportunities, we don't refuse
Help us not to circumvent
So time He gives, may be well spent

Anthony and his plain Jane wife Brooke
Met through the Internet, one for the books
All these years later
Their love's even greater
Which proves personality can supercede looks

Last Deer Hunt

It comes back to me in solemnity,
and I wistfully wish it wouldn't.
A willful case of killing it was—
a hunter doing what he shouldn't.

Father had taken me deer hunting,
thinking to make a man of a boy.
I prayed we wouldn't see a deer.
and we didn't—not one—such joy!

Daylight was dimming to dusk
when he said our hunt had ended.
We started down a rocky trail,
and at a turn—we froze, suspended.

A hunter was positioned to shoot,
crouched, rifle cradled with skill.
Target? A shiny-eyed rabbit
happily nibbling a leafy meal.

"Oh, don't," I felt to cry out,
but then a c-r-a-c-k cricked the air.
The place where the rabbit had been
was as if nothing were ever there.

"He missed," my glad heart sang;
"the rabbit's alive and is all right."
But the hunter's face was fulsome
with a beastly, loathsome blight.

As we came by the spot, I retched,
the brush was garnished with gore.
Father's silence tracked the truth;
we wouldn't go hunting any more.

How to conceive of such blood thirst—
wanton killing as an act of gladness.
I trust, however, for those so cursed
civility will supercede such madness.

Patent Right

It is true that a gun is only a device,
Not angry, mad, or mean.
It is also true that a gun,
Has but one purpose in design.
To take the life of a creature,
Brought to be by God’s design.
While the gun is made by man,
The spark of life is made by God.
So patent rights to the latter,
Supercede those of the former.

Poet Vs Rapper

I have two sides to my ability much wickegery,

Sometimes i be on deep space nine with unlimited imagery,

My mentality is too far gone you cant catch it,

Im a poet and a rapper combined my mind wont let me forget it,

Sometimes i start off in a song format and i resist it,

I want the poet to supercede my thoughts cause thats the ticket,

I love to write a song and a poem i love to do them both,

In a Poem you can walk through my life its me and you up close,

Its all poetry though whats different is how you deliver,

Its like a fight between what fake (hiphop) and whats real (poetry) i need a mind sitter,

Its a everyday struggle with words i need to decide,

Which of the 2 thought processes im gonna run with and take that ride.
