The Queen of Winter
carries her frozen crown
with quiet joy,
its sapphire gems
a burning beacon
within the blizzard.
Snow doves
and white foxes
dash around
her icy gown
as Midwinter hums
cold tunes of solitude.
She marches ahead
through soft snowdrifts
as the arctic wind
tells her its secrets.
Love forests and all within- like the stream,
the trees, and every pretty sight,
midwinter days seem,
to me a wonderful delight,
both an awesome adventure and a dream.
I enjoy when the fragile snowflakes pour,
it makes the forest gay,
at night or day,
I always leave wanting to stay some more.
The next morn' I am back to walk the path,
and listen to the songbirds sing,
watch ducks have a bath,
see a cardinal flash his red wing,
the black crows seem to be on the warpath.
Calm water is a mirror reflection,
fallen snow is pearl white,
quite a beautiful sight,
and the courage of nature is my obsession.
snow is exquisitely beautiful
when it is fresh, it dazzles like rhinestones
rivaling water droplets on a spider’s web
snow is pristine before we make steps in it
she brings a magic
replicated by nothing else
refreshing, enlightening, revitalizing
she changes the ambiance of air and field
nothing changes a day as fast as pristine white snow

The first snowfall transforming all to wonderland

Flurries weave the air~
silent threads of winter’s loom,
stitching earth to sky.
World erased, then rewritten
a beautiful blinding white.
The snow sparkled in the sun, casting diamonds across land
A blanket shining with distance from where I stand
Nature's falling untouched, almost blinding
So much clarity in cold air, with confusion unwinding
What lies underneath, will not be known until spring
As nature melts, healing is spoken by birds that sing
- The uncut diamonds simply fade away-
- While in memory, will always stay -

Silent flakes descend on frozen ground,
Hushed, wrapped in a snowy shroud profound,
With each careful step, the frost sings low,
A distant echo where my dreams are found.
Leafless trees now covered with snow
A path traced softly, I begin to go,
My breath a cloud in the crystal air,
The moon reflects upon the icy show.
Footsteps linger while old shadows stare,
Under branches where pale winds soft and fair
Each memory glimmers in winter's light,
In the silent woods, their secret lair.
Beyond cold horizons, blankets of white,
A golden promise for eyes so bright,
In quiet beauty, the journey ends,
My winter walk done, with pen I share.
The snow stuck to the trees, gripping the branches
The fence was painted white from the cold weather
The valley below had miles of white over ice on the river
Even with gray skies, the snow spread beauty everywhere
Around every corner on the road, another winter scene
Like turning pages of a book with pictures not words
These are the words to describe snow covered land
and farms without green grass to be seen around barns
Smoke from.chimney's showed the warmth held inside
The same way life can be cold, but warmth remains in the heart

In the dawn after her passing in the night,
I admire the blue glow upon the white snow.
I feel blue, but I know she went to the Light.
Life goes on in cycles as far as we know.
In my room, I lay mourning on this morning,
As the sun rises, so does my sadness.
A caretaker gone, but now she's free flying.
We all loved her for providing us a soft bliss.
In my apartment, I'll carry on with routine,
Even in the midst of my solemn grieving.
I know she wants me to still cook and clean,
But I wish I got to see her before her leaving.
In this town, today at dusk I'll go for a walk,
I'll admire the beautiful blue glow upon snow.
Every day, I'll remember how we would talk.
But we'll meet again, after when I too will go.
Oh, just one
flake was soon overrun
until everything was covered white.
I watched the fragile winter scene with great delight;
it was such a beautiful mesmerizing sight.
All night the wintery winds did blow.
To make my morning glow -
pure white snow.
IN SNOWING AWARENESS
Snow days are rising,
Joyous fun is declining:
The snow is no joke!
Be in snowing awareness:
Accidents aren’t jokes either!
Enjoy being safe
In the paradox of snow’s
Beautiful danger:-
Navigate these snowing times,
In faithful wisdom’s guidance:-
A FALL’S NIGHT WINTER PRELUDE
The thunder roars,
The lightening sneaks
Piercing peeks
Through the darkness;
Cosmic tears gently flow
Down with beautiful
Splashing rhythms;
The pitter-pattering melody
Echoes throughout the night,
Caressing the mind and soul
With moisturizing serenity:-
Ironically, this will soon become
A scene of casper-like flakes,
Quietly floating down in the night,
Slowly laying their crystal-white carpet:-
