Take initiative go to the light where the force of darkness ends
A flame needs its kindled source as a sparking awareness mends
Our enlightened energy wrapped in an array of cavernous colors
Ribboned radiant impressions given in vast deepest depths squalors
A shadow self may live dormant and await unveiling the chaos within
When it has become an unbearable journey to live in your own skin
Opaque indigo stones skim over shallow waters in an empty well
Stratas rock labyrinths chiseled lies of neglect in a nautilus shell
Warm sorrel ribbon evokes sympathy in a disparaged tale of woe
A sorbet of violet, green, and tangerine conjure a melodious flow
What is truly a wellspring of a healing rainbow palette renders
We find the key to unlocking magic embers in dormant chambers
Dank darkness may lead us astray from individuality and truth
Take initiative, find the light of all brightest light reaching for you
God created the world
in 6 days, and from the
seventh on, after a brief
pause
He, nor us, have ever
entirely rested –
Why must it be,
either or~Evolution
or Creation?
Why not both? --
I stand on the mount
of existence, looking
off, into known and
even greater yet to be
defined and explored
sensing Spirit the real of me
indestructible
and the mirror,
my freewill reflection
(my timed presence)
though dear -- a mere
fluid puddle
I splash in
and skim over
gone with the sun
now a new light
and my new day
"Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon... must inevitably come to pass!"
~Paul J. Meyer
Go tell it to the free roaming birds,
soaring high over the highest peaks,
That I too can fly without the wings
or even a whiff of wind
across God’s beautiful blue sky
or sweep down playfully
upon the verdant valleys
and the rolling meadows,
I can perch on the flower-laden bough
or skim over the forest-clad ranges,
I can dive deep into the depth of the sea
and traverse the yonder shores—
All I have to do
to realize my wildest whims
is just to close my eyes and
I M A G I N E!

Come fly with me in my hot-air balloon.
We'll skim over mountain tops very high.
see golden sun replaced by silver moon
as stars weave tapestry in ebon sky.
With freedom we'll fly like birds in the air,
in and out of clouds, dodging sudden storm.
watch lightning's fingers spread everywhere,
see how, in clouds of mist, rain showers born.
Our balloon will take us where morning breaks,
as dawn skips gaily over waking sky.
Colors so lovely they'll make our heart ache,
and clouds drift slowly by our vantage high.
Alas, our beautiful journey must end
But places visited and wonders found:
lovliness, before we could but pretend.
In a balloon, we'll sense magic around.

Dark night flees,
And the first incandescence rays
Of the glorious golden sun
Skim over the haughty hilltops
And filter through the dew-wet leaves
Of the tall and stately pines.
A new day dawns.
My sleepy eyes slowly open wide.
I see a bright and summery sky,
A world of unsurpassed beauty,
Nature’s best incomparable display.
My heart grows warm
As golden rays penetrate my soul
And I feel uniquely fine,
For I know only too well
It is your hand, O Lord,
That wrought this radiant masterpiece
That grants me each day
With a fresh start,
Truly a miracle of life.
My miracle solution to an everyday disaster
Fingers are weak. Can’t type any faster
A swarm of thoughts that just keep coming
My cowardly ways, keep me running
Frantically recruiting a place of solitude
A tranquil setting to let my feelings loose
An overflow of words begin to spill
Priming a place for my heart to heal
Something about the written word
Alters delivery when a message is heard
So I write through the joy and I write through the pain
Leavening my heart and contracting my brain
Once expressed, I feel a calming closure
My roaring nerves, slow to a purr
I skim over my piece and quickly let go
I put it away and lighten my load
Delicate bonds woven into cobwebs of complex relationships,
Intricate strings spun into bundles of heavy responsibilities;
Confusing problems sewn into patterns of puzzling circumstances,
Strands of forgotten,unkept promises annealed into heedless betrayals;
Rings of dark, mysterious sins forged into chains of salvation and penitence,
Abstract ideas and unsaid words lost in a confound conundrum of unfathomable thoughts;
Myriad struggles and strifes knitted into an eternal web of wars within,
Pearly beads of dreams adorned upon a silver string of hope;
Glittery golden wishes embellished upon shimmering little joys,
Unknown little joys and haloes of happiness skim over a blissful content smile;
Ancient sorrows and aching grievances veiled under salty droplets of tears,
Threads of oblivious reasons entwined into fabrics of complicated enigmas of emotion;
Wiry solace and self-satisfaction entangled into a mesh of silently complacent compromises;
All the grains of life sift through the sieve of experiences,
Fitting into voids,gathering in a heap of wisdom;
All the delicate complexities of life seep through me,
Filling in pores, giving me,"a mortal",an essence of life.
We race through the night
Our minds intertwined
Brazen abandon
Our only design
We swoop through the air
Her fine feelers quiver
A shooting star flares
We gracefully whirl
My hands on her back
I feel her deep purr
Tingling my skin
And stirring her fur
I feel her thoughts
As she feels mine too
Full of mischief and warmth
As excitement breaks through
Encouraging each other
Temptation is bliss
Daring to continue
We dive through the mist
Skim over the lake
Fresh liquid so cold
Reflecting our grace
Wild and uncontrolled
The stars light our path
Like a million fireflies
Melting into eternity
As we glide through the skies

“Look at how the turtles swim,”
I say, as we stand in the wooden
Japanese gazebo overlooking
the muddy green pond below,
while bumble bees buzz around
the fragrant hanging purple wisteria
and skim over the turtles moving
by in tandem with their curious
cross-synchronized breast stroke –
first their front right and left back
feet, then their opposite, paddling
and pushing through the water.
“That’s so they can stay on course,”
you say, as you take my right hand
in your left and we amble over the
curved bridge, across the lawn to
the vibrant azalea lined path,
side by side and in step.
