Still hope we can cope
With the nope
Don’t give a damn plan
From that Tandoori tan
Obscene Tangerine dope
Jackanory Mandarin Man
That trope..like to be Pope
Go out on a limb..got the vim..scope
To make him of the grim...dim..whim..mope
Just give Mr Grope enough Rope
Opined women..a frump
If they mind.. some bump & grind
Half inching while pinching their rump
The darkness descends
Besotted with anything cosseted
Rotted or garrotted by design
But sign on the dotted line
Raise a 'Stein" of wine
Knaves..slaves.. saved
From the craze & blaze
Of this moral maze & haze
Extinguished by depraved waves
From distinguished graves
Denies his demise is nigh
Popularity sky high he lies
Bliss as the remiss abyss
Of hiss and diss ends
Thanks to a sly bit of
Wry Fab Four rapport
No not you say hello...but yes I say goodbye
Off with his head the French might have said
Cos we've read we'll get by instead
With a little help from his (dead) friends
There is no appointment necessary,
you are free to saunter right in;
Just be sure to read the sign on the door,
mind the subterfuge of fine print;
Results are built out of high maintenance,
don’t mistake turnkey for easy;
It takes alot of effort to stay clean,
our clients reap the benefits;
Be mentally prepared to do the work,
you will cross the finish line first;
Effort needs to remain invisible,
pay your dues with repetition;
Sign on the dotted line the fun begins,
do not be shy we take walk-ins.
Sign on the dotted line
You'll be just fine
There goes your life
There goes your wife
Twenty more years
Many more tears
There goes all my pay
Wallets running on empty today
Can't afford to play
Once was a free man understand
Now your standing in quicksand
Which way is up or down
Its why do you wear that frown
Pay for my house
But can't afford to feed a mouse
Go to work don't miss a day
No time to play
Your a slave
Ride the wave
To an early grave
No time to stop
You'll never reach the top
What is the week end
There's no money to spend
Gone with the wind
Driving a car that won't go
That's way to slow
Your for sure hired
Now your fired
Find a job anew
Since the last one you blew
Disgrace
Living the rat race
Leaves this look on your face
Round and round you go
Yet you have nothing to show
Meeting yourself at the door
Can't give no more
Yet more you want
With letters that haunt
Sometimes taunt
Slowly sinking on dry land
Only thing I need to understand
I'm going to have to find someone to rob
Just so i can pay Bob
Devil sends his advocate to recruit us from the office.
Is this a joke? I ask, thinking it must be.
The advocate comes in with a flourish,
Throwing her red satin cape around with a swish
As she sits daintily on the arm of my boss’s chair.
My boss jumps a few inches. Scared probably.
She is armed with brochures about how nice Hell is.
She has testimonials too. A slew of them.
Probably gotten through torturous sordid ways.
“It is warm all year round,” the brochure says.
“The devil allows all kinds of debauchery,” the testimonial says.
“Marshmallow roasts hourly, and you can have s’mores.”
I am not tempted to sign on the dotted line until…..
“Clothing optional.”
Hmmmmmmm……………..

Boardroom Wars and Bar Room Fights
He twiddled with his fingers and looked up at me curiously
I am not going to sign on the dotted line he said
I have worked very hard for this position
I would not give it up so easily
Storming out of the board room he made a dash for the bar room
Ordered his usual, took a swig and went back
He yelled "Fight to the finish!"
The war went on for 10 months from bar room to board room
Until he was finally nailed.. pinned down..check mate..
Game over.
Daily mounting pressures
What hides behind the eyes
You've tried your best to catch her
This crazy thing called life
While imitating art
No one saw you draw the signs
Sadly here you are
Dressed up like suicide
If you had asked permission
Would they grant the fall
Have you ever heard them listen
To your cries before
Set with tunnel vision
To the world outside
Giving out you give in
Dressed up like suicide
What was once distance thunder
Now goes off in your head
The down pour pulls you under
Held by the hand of death
A cushion for your problems
Sign on the dotted line
Smoke em if you got em
Dressed up like suicide
Although there's an average of 120 suicides a day in America alone the death of Chris Cornell was a real shocker to me and once again puts this tragedy to the forefront.
I beg you, please seek help....
For yourself and your loved ones.
Disease of the mind
Controlled by another
Hated by the higher
Loved by the lower.
The sicker the better
We’re not coherent.
The sicker the richer
Total opposites.
The disease is life itself.
Blood sucking hell raisers.
The happier we are the worse
Then hurt anyone who tells us otherwise.
We don’t even know we have it.
We are the statistic of dying liabilities
The only disease that murders our loved ones
Even before ourselves.
Selling our souls
To a disease torturing us.
Yet we torture others for our future expense.
SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE
Soaked with blood, sweat and sadness.
His hand were old and strong, rough from the weather
Fingers were long and lean. all ten
With a vice grip, that you could feel
Scars were many, like worn leather
Like a map, of where he had been
Without a word, the world knew he was real
Soil under his finger nails, from his brow wiping the sweat
Calloused hands and years of elbow grease
Said what he meant, look you straight in the eye
His word was his bond, it was a sure bet
Live and let live, he tried to live in peace
Those were his rules, do or die
Did not need a contract or sign on the dotted line
Or barrow glasses to read the fine print
Was still around when the ink was dry
He kept his word and everything was fine
Around the world and where ever he went
Did not have to hire a lawyer to figure out why
They say this old world has changed, but this is still understood
There are some of us that still think it stand strong
Like a vow, he would not break
If he said he would do it, come Hell or high water he would
And being honest he would not go to far wrong
Knowing that one could always depend on his hand shake
