R ainbows flash across the sky
A las~ beauty of the colours
I n sink~ they sparkle and shine
N ever ! stop believing in love

M agical unicorns radiate joy
A las ~ time zooms by, sieze the day~ fly
G lad to be alive, free to be me

The alarm screams, but I let it fade,
pressing palms to warm sleep-swollen cheeks.
Outside, a crow cracks the dawn in two~
I want to taste its blackberry beak.
Coffee steam writes promises on air,
each sip erasing yesterday’s debt.
My socks mispaired; the universe winks.
The freeway hum stitches the sunset.
Dandelions breach the concrete,
their gold teeth gnawing at parking lots.
I pick up a pebble, smooth as time,
letting it weigh down my what-ifs and nots.
The moon arrives early, drunk on light,
slurring silver across my doorstep.
I step right through tomorrow’s thin skin.
Carpe Diem

The mountains look down their nose at us all.
With disdain they find the facts of mans fall.
They remember those who climbed their north face.
Made it to the top then to outer space.
If only we knew just what we would find.
Alien spieces of the divine kind?
Maybe we should stick to a simple thing.
Like flying a kite or learning to sing.
There is a reason we must sieze the day.
before they find a new fangled way!

Another poetry contest posted today?
Well I guess you could give it a look.
Writing poetry is not always wasted time
And is shorter than writing a book.
Of course you won't be expecting to win
Against so many good poets on Soup.
You're only entering for the fun of it.
And to keep your name in the loop.
I'm afraid the ink in your pen will go dry
If you don't use it at least now and then.
Just gather your wits and write a few lines,
If only for the good of your pen.
Well fine, you have written and entered
And the ink in your pen's flowing free.
Tomorrow when checking for winners,
You're not surprised if your name you don't see.
But look! There's your name! You have won it!

I can feel so much of life slipping through the cracks
so much missed opportunity
due to lack of time
due to procrastination
due to any breeze that happens to blow my way-
don't let this happen to you
carpe diem
yes that's right
sieze the day
make your world of dreams shine forth
and you never know what will come your way-
and
be gentle with yourself
as you step one foot in front of the other
your moments of intention will manifest themselves
into a myrid of happenings that
will leave you breathless.
The face in the moon
looked over her shoulder
and whispered just to you
why don’t you smell the clover
you worry too much
about what may never be
don’t wait on sunshine
celebrate raindrops in the rain

Father dont relieve me
give me a dawning day to
kiss the bliss upon a new life
as long as i take them with
me into what could be 6 plus deep
just fall into what could be heaven
for me it is called hell
as if i were to sieze the day
Just a moment in this lifetime,
Just a tragedy ahead.
Not knowing where each turn will lead,
Within seconds we might be dead.
Live each day to the fullest,
Do not stop to wonder why.
Do everything your heart desires,
In dreams, reach for the sky.
Surprises at every stop sign,
With its share of wrong ways and dead-ends.
Statistics don’t help you with the future,
They only tell you where you’ve been.
With so many people among us,
There are no certainties.
And all it takes is just one person,
To reroute history.
Don’t waste one single moment,
How very precious that they are.
