Night after Thanksgiving and All is not Well

awakened by a loud bang

Zapped

Hosie Rosie
There was a young lady named Rose,
who developed a run in her hose.
When her big toe stuck out;
she got zapped with the gout:
Now what Rosie does best,
is to limp all about....

Bye Bye Fly
Today I saw a pesky fly
He buzzed around all day …
Until he landed on my lunch
So I zapped him with fly spray!
Now you’re really in the sky
Rest in peace little fly

The Galaxy of Zy
There is a star in the galaxy of Zy
Where the people speak by uttering sighs
On reconasance to find a land dry
Landed near a bench where Henry Parks took his naps
With outstretched arms he let out a sigh, within seconds he was zapped...

Five Trees and Me
Once there were five trees
five trees and me
Down came two
--now only three
Two more diseased
sawed down
to the ground
The last, lightning-zapped
gone, all her sap...
Now, no more trees
just me and Thee...

Virgin Paradise Lost
As bright crystals descent, Earth’s frozen ground huffs indignantly,
just knowing late March never offered permanence.
Quickly rain, sleet teem upon virgin white –
Xanadu’s youth zapped.

The Moon and Rosered (Reposted)
THE MOON AND ROSERED (tanka)
dew weeps not rosered
heavy dew hangs not her cheeks
no it is the light
gone her lovely pastel blush
gone the moon this cloudy night
I accidentally zapped this one out because I don't know how to cancel those poems
submitted in the last soup contest....

Lazy Days
Let the cold, integral to fall
Allow a furlough from life’s gall
Zapped of heat, my water love lost
Yielding to blankets, dark accosts…
Days mist like ghosting memories
All wrapped warm, swaddled in stories
Yet, outside forces beat and knock…
So wish to hibernate, doors locked!

Impatience
Victims claim the well must be capped
Zapped off by their hands two times clapped
But oil will still leak
While their talking heads speak
Logic tapped from minds that have snapped

stuck
virginal maiden exited the cave and faced gruesome Castle Landmore
ghoulish feel in the air, grisly murders had been committed here
a chill zapped through her heart, she turned to flee but the crevice closed
she was stuck, facing her most gruesome morbid memories of death
remembering her ghastly horrid childhood had never been more difficult.

The Doc
Strong as an Ox,
light as a feather.
Zapped by lightning,
and possessed by weather.
His hair standing up straight,
feet blue as the sea.
Only has four fingers,
and a very crooked knee.
Been seen in graveyards,
dissappears at times.
Talks with a cackle,
and always rhymes.
Scared of a mouse,
in love with a croc.
The people in the lab,
call him "The Doc"....

Leaving Is Such a Trivial Thing
Leaving is such a trivial thing
You call it injustice, wont stand for it
Departure imminent.
Your daily bits and bytes
No longer.
What will be left of you
Some ghosts in a search engine?
Empty emotion, empty spaces
Zapped wisdom, but maybe the spirit
Remains
Well, leaving is such a trivial thing
One byte away, one click
Your soul and spirit,
Words and critique,
Hard truths, left in limbo...

Cat Advise
Be on sensory alert and always stay curious.
Speak out against wrongs and what makes you furious.
Use caution when out on the street.
Don't just rub up on any one you meet.
Stay finicky about any thing you eat..
Pay close attention to your hygiene,
always keep those front paws clean..
If you want to live those nine lives, better
find time to exercise..
When your energy is feeling zapped it's
okay to curl up and take that nap.....

I Wonder Which One Will Get Me First
I am getting strangle my the myriad
of wires surrounding me
in many colors, shapes and sizes
with all kind of plugs and prongs
I am getting zapped by all the electronic
equipment in the world
with all kinds of power surges
of different volts, amps and watts
I am getting stifled by all the
power seeking people around me
in many colors, shapes and sizes
with all kinds of power surges
I wonder which one will get me first....

Rainbow In the Sky
verse
Will this rain ever quit?
Rainbow in the sky
Sun makes her move
followed by thunder on I-4
Will this pain ever quit?
Car totalled; I'm broken.
Sun makes her move
then the special diagnosis.
Will the strain ever quit?
Surgery did not go well
Sun makes her move
a nagging dread remains
Will the drain ever quit?
Zapped by much therapy
Sun makes her move
Rainbow in the sky…
I will walk again.

Stars In Her Eyes
"she has stars in her eyes”
I heard it, but I did not understand it.
Makes as much sense to me as milking a frog.
Or kicking the moon or diving into a tree.
Stars in her hair I could understand.
My sister and I used to brush our hair one hundred strokes.
We could hear static electricity popping and kicking in the dark.
We could reach out and get zapped by it. Ouch!
But stars in her eyes?
I have no possible schema that understands it....
