Hearing the Crack of Lightning
It sounded like Zeus's whip had cracked the sky open with a single blow. I stared out the window; had something got hit? Lightning zapped across the sky, toward the woods. Two days later I would find one of my giant oak's cracked in half; one part lying across a large piece of the ground.
struck down by lightning
cringing at the next crackle
good bye mighty oak
