keeping it from harm,

Where Is the Garden?
Where is the garden
That you planted in 1989?
Waiting in the window sill,
16 years young
A touch of blue entertains you
And spring is here behind your shade
Open up like origami
A bouncing bloomer bleeds blindly...

Premium Member Eighty Eight Years Young
Rosy cheeks, keen mind was fairly dancing with terrific ideas and hope
I had a sense about her from the instant we met, a kindred soul.
Eighty-eight years young. She had a soulful and amazing ability to cope.
We were the best of friends, she made me feel encouraged and whole....

Premium Member Loving Wiggly Worm
he wore a green hat with a red flower
he was my bestie, and I adored him
the first person I saw in the morning
my bestie, Wiggly Worm

there were three creatures hanging off him
two bugs and a butterfly
they all three had enormous smiles
they made my day in their vibrant colors
I loved them so when I was two years young...

Premium Member A Life Taken Too Soon
Only twenty six years young
she gazes from her picture
oval frame like a cameo
should hang round a neck
not on a granite slab
when the soft breeze blows
the branches shading her wave
her hair hangs still, forever
when family come to visit
the only smile is hers

dunking into the water
dismally falling apart
dashing hopes of little boy

Motivated By Hate
4’10” and 14 years young,
Words were said but fists weren’t swung.
5’4” and 2 years down the line,
Negativity slowed, I started to shine.
5’8” and a hopeful social work success,
People don’t doubt me,
I’ve made progress.
4 grades and 10 inches later in my mental and physical growth,
Needless to say I’ve improved highly in both.
All I needed to do was wait,
That’s just me,
Motivated By Hate....

8 Years Old
In a blink, dot of ink
Your childhood, now, a stain
I was just a fool, to think
Innocence would remain

A picture show
Heart tugging song
I pretend to know
Where 8 years have gone

Yesterday, I rhymed a rhyme
You were turning 4, too soon
A teardrop fell, for every line
While wrapping up my tune

Today came, I feel numb
Just as I was told
Yesterday, you were 4 years young
Today, you’re twice as old...

50 Years Young
The left arm is for the king.
The right arm is for the Kid.
Image of the scar.

He is my king,
Grown up,The Kid.
Point of the pen, ball.

Or kingdom of kingdoms.
White drugs on rice.
The design that pores into absolute blackness.

From the capital avocado forest in the eastern part of the pulpit of Africa.
Far, far up the mountains of Pigg's Peak,
down golden Lufafa Mountain.

Swati in Greek!
We are heritage....

'Mum, you okay'
Why did this happen; how can I survive
A son should never die before his mum
One day so alive; next day you have died
Forty nine years young; life has gone my son
Your own son now a man of twenty one
his heart is crying out for you his dad
She yearns for cuddles she will never have
your sweetest girl; her heads in such a whirl
A wife sheds tears for her Sir Galahad
'Mum, you okay' ~ my mind starts to unfurl...

13 Years Young
"Happy Birthday to you!"
As the last bars are sung
the cake is brought out
13 candles shinning
on top waiting to be
wished upon.
With one wind sweep
the candles no longer
gleam. And with one
downward motion
of a sharp, silver utensil,
the cake is cut into
many slices.
The cake is gone
in one glup. Presents
of many shapes,
sizes, and colors
are brought out
and opened carefully.
It's a lovely
13th birthday....

Michelangelo was seventy-one years young
when he began designing St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican’s Dome
Lying on scaffolds for hours a day, it was a labor of love
His final hurrah, a worthwhile sacrifice,

Millions of visitors have marveled at his works.
Each streak of paint was an experienced stroke of a master painter.
Michelangelo, the quintessential designer, working for hours
Bravo! He has left us the ultimate artistic masterpiece....

Premium Member Miracle of Halloween
Miracle loved riding the fog
She glided gracefully around the tombstones
Feeling spirit eyes on her
Traveled past the cemetery gates
Enjoying Halloween night more than ever
There she goes again, a ghoul said.
Every Halloween, his goblin friend replied
Miracle was over four hundred years young
And she never changed up her routine.
She would be easy to mug, said a demon.
I could bite her neck, a vampire said.
But what would be the point?...

Premium Member Nora Tries To Secretly Graduate
Nora told no one of her plan.
She had been secretly attending college for four years.
She did not expect to see anybody there except her friend Sug.
Sug could not keep a secret. She had told the press.
When Nora walked across the stage she heard “There’s grandma!”
The audience had been told to hold their applause.
Her relatives could not do it; there were tons of them.
The entire audience seemed to cheer for her.
At ninety-eight-years young, Nora felt like a celebrity....

Premium Member Daddy and His Mini Me
At the doctor’s office
I spend time observing the others
They have no idea I am doing it
For I am staring at my phone, instead of them
Taking sneak peek glances.
no one sees me anyway.
At seventy-one-years-young I am invisible now
a daddy walks in carrying his three-year-old son
they are wearing similar attire
blue shirts, kaki cargo cutoff shorts, Nike flip flops
Child sings a dah-dah song in a joyful way.
They got called to see the doctor.
I see they run the same way too....
