Thousands of breaths I withdrew from my life’s account today; balance unknown!

Chupacabra came in the night
It gave everyone great fright
Jack shouted a loud "Boo!”
Chupacabra withdrew
and hid in shadow out of sight.
Her old head
Upon a pillow lie
I held her hand
She withdrew her
Hand
Looked
Into a distant
Past
And said
I wish you were
Your brother
When my great self
Was taking birth,
Death, his month agape Was lurking at the door
But at my firm gesture
Weighing the strength of my arms
He quietly withdrew.
When my great self
Was taking birth,
Death, his month agape Was
lurking at the door..
But at my firm gesture
Weighing the strength of my arms
He quitely withdrew.
There was that moment,
that glimpse of sadness come,
when silently she withdrew.
To savor in private thought;
a memory which only she knew.
Her secret rendezvous
She sat with a finger in her nose
It did smell quite a lot like my prose
She got a few
Before she withdrew
Boogers came out striking a pose

I met you
Running one day
Wish I’d withdrew.
Instead, I’d stay
For twenty-five years
While you’d betray
And cause tears
But now, phew:
Dear heart disappears!
drop a penny in the slot, drop it in the hole
”penny saved, penny earned” also “good for soul”
my first piggy bank
was tough like a tank
until a hammer withdrew the whole
Bigger and bigger the balloon he blew
As he sat in comfort on the bamboo
He laughed he singed
The guitar I stringed
Then from the deep forest he withdrew
drawn no more
to the game
of push and pull
we withdrew
the ebb and flow
of life’s tides
yet sometimes does
pull us in
be this as it may
wading in the waters
we do not get
our feet wet
Noodles Noodleman knew
The cookbook through and through
Noodles Noodleman knew
He must teach Sally too
Alas, Sally withdrew
Cooking she could not do
She then began to brood –
What could poor Noodles do…?
He, always alone in a crowd
she, always the centre of it;
they always arrived together
then part, he so quick disavowed
she traipsed to the men, in a flit;
he ever held on a tether.
And when they withdrew, he and she
there was no longer two, but three.
The victims lined up
all of my internal organs
the shard of her
plunged into each
leaving scores
slowly dying
when cold entered
my heart I
grasped the blade
and withdrew
along with it
and when her gaze
tickled the wound
she didn't find me there
Rapier
slender,
steely, swiftly
plunged deeply
where no one had touched, to its hilt you thrust,
embedded...
and then,
silently,
without a whisper,
finishing the deed,
withdrew the dripping blade
And left me to hemorrhage
our tourniquet friends to mend
Where she walked no flowers bloomed
her only company the waning moon
The buds withdrew and shook with fright
even trees dropped their leaves when she came into sight
And as this woman, on nature's privacy encroaches
the wildlife whispers “Lady Winter approaches”
His glass-stained eyes saw things he knew
That framed a past when years withdrew
From indiscretions of a town---
Mirrored in youth’s flashes, rundown
By secrets kept in a house where he loved and grew.

I loved you more than life,
but life had gotten too hard
Withdrew back into my shell,
now miss your soft smile
His mother would stroke his hair,
with gentle fingers.
It made him purr.
Fingers withdrew.
Time combed thinning years.
A one-night woman
took his head in her lap.
It was good to feel again
that love that fingers have
for hair.
In time, he settled down
with a lady,
who bred Afghans.
He took a walk
to see the view.
They found a sock.
A rose, he threw.
Blue was the sky -
the ocean, too.
He wondered why.
They found a shoe.
A bluff so high,
an eagle flew.
He could not fly.
His love was true.
A blood-red rose,
and then he knew,
and so time froze.
The tide withdrew.
A wintry chill held me to your bosom
The night drew praises from my lips
My hungry prayers did feed a fiery blossom
And the blast withdrew its icy fingertips.
As fancies came unhinged from fear
And diminished dark in its magnitude
My heart bulged with its own good cheer
And spilled its cries of gratitude

Pro-Palestinians shout
What about?
"How can you support
Gaza's occupier?"
Those who shout
are rather dumb louts
Gaza's occupier since 2007
is (surprise!) ~ Hamas!
Israel withdrew in 2005
eighteen years ago
Ever since then Gaza has been
100 percent Palestinian
she spoke of two in metaphor
consequence and heretofore
laced her pouring bawdy brew
with a sweetened blinding cue
mesmerized
she hypnotized
dancing emerald eyes
trapped me with her wily guise
we drank a tepid tea for two
concocted by a crafty shrew
sweaty salty we both withdrew
bidding a sweet adieu
You loved me
l loved you
You left me
I withdrew
~~~
I struggled
You were free
My life changed
Sad and empty
~~~
Time passed
I healed
Never the same
My wounded heart sealed
~~~
You gave me life
I watched yours end
Forever in spirit now
My beautiful mum, my teacher, my friend!
~~~
He came to town
His stallion black
His robes of white
Sinners and saints
Alike withdrew
Quick out of sight
One not be feared
Need of a shave and of a meal
The check in desk
The clerk just stared
Those eyes of steel..
No one He bothered
And when He left
They breathed relief
But did they know
The dust He shook
Beneath His feet?
