Rock turtles in blue waters . . .their crawl so slow it’s imperceptible

When traffic is flowing at eighty,
that pedal had better get weighty.
And in case you don’t know
it's unsafe to go slow,
so get in the right lane there, matey!
Darwin's finches.
Galapagos turtles kiss,
Snuggle together under the sun.
Webbed feet to swim
Our friend LeMarck was wrong
We can never get what we need
When we need it.
Turtle crosses
Not bosses road
Squashes too soon
Before moon's shine
Some goon killed him
In light dim died
Quickly fried, she
Cat dived on plate

This heart,
Yearning to
Be free,
In this sea of
White clouds
Forming shapes
Sea turtles and doves
Sailing above and
Still breathing, the shapes of clouds
Carefree days for dreaming
Come sit upon the grass
Cast your eyes above where
Clusters of clouds float by
Castles, dragons, mountains,
Camels, turtles and ships
Creations in the sky
Ripples’ softened pitch
rises as ducks glide around,
Turtles' bubbled chants resound
till frogs’ croons abound;
Insects’ buzz and splashing fish

Amazing taste to the last in line
Cashews alone are great
Chocolate kicks in the endorphins
Carmel is so sweet
Combine all three and the tasts
Oh my the taste is better
It is better
I once had four cute shiny pet turtles
Taught them all to jump rope hoops and hurdles
For a grand finale
'Twas always quite funny
They would turn multiple shades of purples

To God I thank you for the creation of nature,
so soothing to the soul
As I ran along a waterway observed two freshwater turtles
To God, once again I thank for the creation of nature
it always makes me feel whole
Crows gather.
Turtles float deeper
on the buoyant pond scum.
It's going to be a beautiful day
in Alaska.
Here,
the crows are crowding trees,
breeding shadows.
The sky looks like it wants
their black wings.
The wind chortled
Just passing through
Teasing the ripples to white tips
Swaying trees twerked in her gusts
Hawks shrieked on a roller coaster down draft
Sunning turtles watched the duck down fly
Dragonflies didn’t
The snake is venomous.
It catches and eats a mouse.
Eagles snatch prey with a sweep.
While turtles are camouflaged in the deep.
My knee is in pain due to dodgy cartilage,
possibly because of an active life and age.
blue sea fireflies shine
baby turtles dart to sea -
moon, stars dance in waves

Mud
Ice cold
Slithering
Squishy welcome
Tickled by the worms
Softening Winter’s edge
Cheering the Jonquils sunrise
Awakening the pond turtles
Harbinger of Spring’s latent beauty
Soothing the hands of early gardeners
Turtles seem invincible but survival rate is small
Ancient and nonaggressive, least threatening of them all
Alive with the dinosaurs
Extinction is at the door
Since I was a boy, was intrigued and enthralled
Tenacious tender turtleman
Touching time in backwoods glory
Turtles in trouble treated with truth
Relocates pesky animals for safety
Fans laugh at his rainbarrel bath
Never saw a bar of soup....?
Natural for the naturalist
I
like dogs,
cats are nice,
rats not house pets.
Lizards, rabbits, snakes make me sweat and shake.
I would rather have turtles or pigs.
No hamster thou,
and no birds,
get a,
fish!
Double tetractys

cory long
Quietly
The hum of sunrise
Awakens the day.
Cutting the familiar wake
Of an old butter knife
Un-noticed
Silent swans
Skirting the lily pads
Pass sunning turtles
Wary eyed muskrats
And bug-eyed frogs.

Existence of a Turtle
turtles have been born
they will wiggle way to sea
ride currents up the coast
they could be eaten
at any time in their lives
have to be careful
during their efforts
what they do is to head south
start a family
Love has never
let me down...though
people sometimes lose
their way; but no heart
should ever beat long
alone; and no person
should an island deserted stay
--for even
turtles have their Shelly-mates,
and seabirds, their Soaring
Dates….
Life breath growing.
Doves dawning song,
Zephyrs blowing.
Daisies blooming
Waiting yearlong.
Showers looming.
Turtles swimming.
Frogs croaking throng.
Creeks near brimming.
Lushness supplying.
Blessings belong.
Rich life implying.
