sweet pet I came to know -
small hyper-active dog, snowy white.

He lay to sleep by my feet on my bed at night.
Loyal and loving, though not bright!

An egg’s hatched.
The eagle swoops in search,
For quarry to carry in its pick.

The shell cracks; emerges outwards slowly the chicks.
They shuffle tenderly with cautious steps and flicks.
The eagle smiles post a quick survey.

Finds one shell for both prey;
