Round and Round
round and round
he goes on his tricycle
everywhere
a pleasure to watch and hear
(batteries thankfully not included)

Premium Member Who's Afraid
"Who's afraid of the big bad wolf,
the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf?"

He sang as he rode the tricycle path.

"Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?"

      Nobody thought to ask....

Seems just like yesterday when all this began From a wee one on a tricycle to today on a divan Recalling those days Of a long-ago place When the world seemed simpler on life's caravan

Dogs of Sambalpoor
back from the trip
sketching poeming
in the land of the
ruined temples
silent non barking dogs
old tricycle travels
smiling people no watches
dogs black red white brown
in the streets meditative
non barking i miss them...

Wheels To Walking
tricycle came first
and then the Big Wheel
later came a bike
rented rollerskates
skateboard was a gift

those were my wheels
feet over wheels
I love walking
soles don’t go flat

walk the malls
the casinos
and the parks

us two
nonstop

walk...

In the Park
Strolling in the sun
Shine like an icicle
Tricycle shimmers past
Lasting until evening
Sun warms the pavement
Cracks widen and we all
Fall into dreams of
Sun shining on long days with
Nothing to do but lay
On soft grass wondering if puppies
Are angels....

Premium Member Just Retired My Bicycle
I ride a bicycle
    just retired my tricycle
No stove, no oven, no range
    Some folks think me strange

'cos I use the sun for cooking
and I catch folks curious, looking
  Sleep on the ground
    all night, and sound
up at the crack of dawn...

  My carbon footprint is zero
    I'm a back-to-nature hero...

Peggy
When I ride my tricycle
With Daddy in the park
We take our dog Peggy
Because she likes to run and bark

She chases all the squirrels
And wags her tail at other dogs
Then she is yucky and sniffs the smells
Left on grass and logs

And when it’s time for us to go
She trots along beside
But she sometimes goes in my basket
And just enjoys the ride...

Premium Member Riding a Two Wheeled Tricycle
Look
I can
Ride my tricycle
On only two wheels

because I have to
till we fix it
and fix it we will
in the poor quarters
downtown

the tricycle
in our midst is
overused and well shared
among many

It's because we care
for each other
and the little things we
do and have matter

that I can ride
my tricycle
on two wheels only....

My First Tricycle
My first tricycle should have been built for two
My baby sister jumped on the back
Down through the woods we zoomed
Running into a tree, I scraped my knee
Across the handle bars she flew
My beautiful tricycle could not be fixed
The cuts and scrapes were only small knicks
We never rode a tricycle again
But me and my sister
Are forever best friends...

Premium Member Hung My Christmas Sock
Hung my Christmas sock
Darned neatly for the mantel
So Santa could leave
Nuts, fruit maybe peppermint
Winter often harshly cold

Never wanted much
Just a big red tricycle
To ride my sister
Around on the long front porch
Red tricycle was missing

Dad quickly vanished
Had owner to open store
On Christmas morning
Santa left it on front porch
Could not stuff into stocking

Premium Member Grandpa and I
Grandpa took me to the ice cream store. On my tricycle, yes, I was well_loved! What girl in braids, could ask for more? There were comic books there, too. Pedaling along, in my white sandaled shoes. And yes, paste and new pencils, too. Friendly butterflies and lovely, tall trees Birds of all sizes, that chirped so merrily. What lovely days~that gave birth to poetry. 3/5/2023

Premium Member Bert's Bike
Bert loved his bike
He rode it all day long
This made his skinny legs
Muscular and strong
Age crept up on Bert
As it does to all
One day while on his bicycle
Poor Bert had a fall
He lost his balance
As he tried to ride
His trusty treadly
Swayed from side to side
Bert had lost confidence
Was loathe to ride his bike
His wife said "Don't worry Bert
I'll buy you a trike"
A tricycle has three wheels
Which makes it very steady
Bert can ride this with confidence
Any time he is ready...
