Cherry Blossoms in February
Cherry blossoms decorate wispy branches
In clusters of blooms like fallen clouds
Lovely flowers of sweet innocence
Shake off rain from passing thunderclouds.

Rhyme
The thunderclouds rumble
And lightning’s flickering,
But all you've given me’s
A lemonade stand...
Who’s gonna buy?
Who’s outside,
And to torture me this way,
I’ve gotta ask why,
Why such a day,
Why such a life...

Towering dark cover
The frenetic light waves
Thunder roaring with wrath
Turbulence in the sky
Trembling clouds spill over
Torrential sheets of rain
Treading on earths parched skin

October thunderclouds looming in the horizon
The eyes open bravely through a mist of tears
In reverence I pray - let the fall play the violin

My thoughts are like thunderclouds
Thoughts that collide and give worthless words
Only sound .... my mind wants peace
Running from the storm - another shortcut
Another way to handle it

“Oh, these vast, calm, measureless mountain days, days in whose light everything seems equally divine, opening a thousand windows to show us God.” John Muir
MUIR MUSINGS
filling in the crags,
my mind like a maelstrom,
soaking up the thunderclouds and waves.

Ohio slips in and out of suburban gardens
shedding grey skins,
until
native red and green feathers
crash out of soil and sky.
Climatic airs stamp on thunderclouds.
Painted for war, it leaks blood onto old muskets.
Tomahawks clash above Walmart shoppers.
In the sparse woods, it smokes,
and it does not give a damn
for nicotine gum.

It was stark dark,
A little after dusk.
Thunderclouds rumbled,
And heavy rain tumbled.
Children had fled from their playground,
Driven by the dismal sound.
But the aged knew better,
When a young one shook like a feather.
Home everyone went-
Each child with a parent;
Waiting for the hour of woe,
For the world had soon become a foe.

Didactic
Deep within the crevices
Dire valleys deepen
Hearkening to the Thunder
Channel Rivers spiral
Voicourss thunderclouds
Clapping loud
Sun beams bright
Focusing on it lights path
Darkness Shadows await the night
Moon switches places
Evening tides river rides
The grounds follows
Deep within the crevices

Constant thunder, but no blubbering - the clouds are dry,
dark, sultry; and the soil is crying out for alcohol -
A little drink of pink champagne or whisky sour cocktail.
No umbrella!
Squeeze out the plenipotentiary sopped-up water
and let the thunderclouds rip, and roar with delightful glee.
Birds and insects, in hideaway, humming softly, resting.

Verse
Flowering bluebonnets will soon carpet fields;
Baby colts playing, kicking up their heels.
Indian paintbrushes will streak through the blue,
And gnarled oak trees budding will show off their hue.
Once I rode a horse through the bluebonnet's terrain;
Low hanging thunderclouds portending of rain;
Showers refreshing drenching my face,
My love by my side
Another time and another place.

Rhyme
A gust of wind swirls rustling the morning;
scent lingers of oncoming summer rain.
Thunderclouds loomed with ominous warning,
lighting brightens black distance sky again.
Gray, damp, creeping closer, lectures rumbling
sounds; pouring rain swells the crops golden grain.
Ethereal summer rain, cleanse and cool
the earth; heaven's gift, rainbow color pool.

DOWN TO EARTH PLEASURES
Tyres screech and we’re down
Glad of it
Something satisfying about walking
---Where grass and flowers grow
On solid earth instead
Of an aluminum floor
With nothing growing
And only millimeters separate me from nothing
---Where turbulence affects only swirling leaves
And thunderclouds threaten only a drenching
And pressure on ears
Comes only from the dog’s tongue

Ominous dark thunderclouds boil up
Beneath sun-drenched sky lanes high,
Covering with gray blankets the green
Earth's parched barren ground, so dry
And unbroken by the good farmer's plow
Left fallow by years of failing harvest,
Indignant from the drought of moisture
Disappointed by the lack of nature's best,
The unyielding deluge moves on across
Reneging on its deceitful promise of rain.
