Rainfall At Nightfall
It was stark dark,
A little after dusk.
Thunderclouds rumbled,
And heavy rain tumbled.
Children had fled from their playground,
Driven by the dismal sound.
But the aged knew better,
When a young one shook like a feather.
Home everyone went-
Each child with a parent;
Waiting for the hour of woe,
For the world had soon become a foe.
