The Passing Storm

Ominous dark thunderclouds boil up Beneath sun-drenched sky lanes high, Covering with gray blankets the green Earth's parched barren ground, so dry And unbroken by the good farmer's plow Left fallow by years of failing harvest, Indignant from the drought of moisture Disappointed by the lack of nature's best, The unyielding deluge moves on across Reneging on its deceitful promise of rain. written June 18, 2021
