Talent versus genius,
innate the spirit cries
Surpassed by something undefined
—old limits left behind
(Dreamsleep: December, 2020)
Whenever a flag flies half-mast
It means that the die has been cast
Be that as it may
We all hope and pray
Our sentiments won't be surpassed
Sarah Biffen artist extraordinaire
surpassed limitations sans a care
With ease she broke the glass ceiling
exquisite miniatures were her thing
In moments of complete of unfairness
When human justice appears surpassed
Fear not…. as Karma in its own time
Will bite them on the a**e!
Prez O has surpassed all others
Enjoyed twelve months of summers
In every possible way
Showed love every day
Prez O by name, compassion by color
Sick slick trick playing down on you
Mesmerized your eyes with keys to nothing
The miracle of the Xanadu
Surpassed all maniacal distraction
hourglass,
our glass,
one time
one night
love to pass
our glass
are surpassed
past sublime
past en masse
our brass
hour passed
union asked
loves a pass

On a field of green grass
Yellow buttercups spread mast
Row on row of the spread mass
Coating the field un surpassed
With yellow buttercups outspread
On grassy fields spread
Are we really disputing beliefs of the past
Evolution makes us think we have surpassed
Basic skills back then
We surely do transcend
But their abilities were amazing and really vast
Are we really disputing beliefs of the past
Evolution makes us think we have surpassed
Basic skills back then
We surely do transcend
But their abilities were amazing and really vast
My joy
in May’s sweet blooms
is only surpassed by
those warm nights’ blossoming of stars
in June

For Line Gauthier's Bitesize Poem No56 Poetry Contest
It has finally happened, I'm running outta gas
Tried so hard, my most bad stuff was surpassed
Energy was immense
But in my defense
Forgot, under no circumstance, should I light a match
I've begun,
I've surpassed.
I'm surprised, I could last.
I've passed.
Wait a sec...
I've woken up, it's a trap.
The load hasn't vanished.
Let me fall back asleep,
so my purity - I can keep.
My eyes and ears are no longer first class
Lost my charm too and developed a big ass
Actually my son Scotty
Wins the contest for naughty
His naughtiness has never actually been surpassed
In the great beyond, we met once again
After a life on earth, we had just passed
We looked at each other and smiled only
For language’s need, we had surpassed!

The silver moon embraced the lonely sky
their love surpassed eternity,
heaven and earth
became ONE
The Endless love
glorified their souls.
It to took me many years
to find someone I could trust ,
so many different hairstyles
colors black, blonde and rust,
but this time you surpassed yourself
that ash blondes just the job,
and to top it off
you cut the perfect bob.
My life surpassed, fades long, yet fast
(Below the dirt, my coffin's cast)
Despite how deep, however vast
I'll dwell inside that vacant mass
It's only He that understands,
The One that gave me Poet's hands
So tell me please, if you can-
How from dust arose a Man?
If time were to end and suspend us here
my gladness would evoke excited shouts
for here peace radiates its presence clear
and removes life's muzzle of puzzled doubts.
I now know how blissful contentment feels;
like paradise has surpassed ideals.
There was an old chap from Toledo
Who took meds for his bad libido
One pill made him fast!
Two pills helped him last!
With three, he surpassed a torpedo !!

My beauty was a pledge I took
Beauty hidden in plain face
In the small secured, kind place
Beauty beyond what was seen
What I had become from what I had been
From the impaired to the mended
Something that surpassed all the barriers
The kind of beauty that chooses its carriers
My beauty was a pledge I took
Beauty hidden in plain face
In the small secured, kind place
Beauty beyond what was seen
What I had become from what I had been
From the impaired to the mended
Something that surpassed all the barriers
The kind of beauty that chooses its carriers
Glorious human race!
Monstrous machines
unto globe thou place.
Surpassed grandeur,
overwhelmed with grace;
Heaven's territories
thou subdue 'nd embrace;
Surmounted all mysteries,
summits and space.
Yet, thy mightiness,
perfection never pace;
Tiniest Coronavirus,
fail thou to face!
it’s said we can’t outrun our past ~ yet the cosmos does so every day
and whilst mankind tries catching back up ~ monkeys remain much the same way
intelligence has surpassed evolution ~ one million fold i’d say
have we been blessed or modified ~ who supercharged our DNA

Don't be afraid,
We have surpassed,
The high cliffs
Of climber's despair.
After the fall,
And the loss of it all,
The second chance
Is ripe to the touch.
From the residue
Of capitulation,
Emerges trust
Without any crust.
Just pure openness,
One day at a time,
After the fall
And the loss of it all.
