movement caught my eye
         from just outside the window

Premium Member Latest Song

The birds revealed their latest song
entertained as I strolled along
their Ode to Joy has no notes wrong
still, they fine tune it all day long

Premium Member My Morning Walk

To a giraffe, I said, as I strolled by,
"I wish that I could be so high".
He replied, as I continued my walk,
"And I wish that I could talk".

I had to smile when I heard him whisper in her ear…
as by me this old couple strolled…

the only hand I ever wanted to hold.”

Doom

who are you?
take your cue
& hide. my softness
has shied away,
denied. i can't recall
when last i cried-
willingly strolled right
on past, without
trailing doom.

Country Solly needed a back massage
Strolled up to his local car wash garage --
Said, "I'm Sol, God of Solar,"
He laid down on those rollers --

The Oozer

There was a man who had a drool bucket
he would sit at the beach and upchuck it,
when bikinis strolled he'd ooze
it got much worse when he'd booze...
Poor Otis is now banned from Nantucket!

Girl In a Tree

Some girl high in a tree
Surprised wife and me:
—how are you two?
—just fine, and you?
Fine, thank you, she said
As we strolled ahead,
Impressed less by her height
Than her manner, polite.

Premium Member Strolling on the Beach

A tall fellow strolled on a beach abroad
Along a cream-like sandy shore unflawed,
He tripped on a small shell
And fell with a sharp yell,
Lying on the ground while all his teeth gnawed.

Light, As Love's Emanation

Spring's world is lit. Brighter
Each point of light
Enflowered, which shadows it.
In the spirit.

Strolled of us through. Opened
Whose mortal eyes
In love, to the love within
Each God-made thing.

She strolled briskly toward center stage, self-confident, charismatic. She nodded at supporters, teachers, friends, family, who rejoiced in her graduation, overjoyed, thankful, awed.

Force Determination

Don't be afraid
On road of life
Don't surrender.

No matter what
The weather is
Bring your sunshine.

Some road can be
Traveled alone
Strolled bravely.

How far dream is
Only one leap
To go along.

Premium Member Achilles Heels

I strolled my garden on a day so fair,
and lo, a sad spider was sitting there.
I found that I could commiserate
with the little guy whose legs were eight.
Imagine, my friend, how it feels
to have so many Achilles heels.

Premium Member While I Strived At Wilmington Treatment Center

I strolled with God, and
God with me, as
I shrank from booze to clarity, through
Narrow doors, and sculpted lawn, that
Buffered me with accountability -
The hands of God my confidence
No one can stand
Like wall against.

Premium Member In the Greenwood Cemetery

In the Greenwood cemetery where we strolled as children all those summer nights so long ago, I stop to lay some flowers on the grave they laid you in before your chance to ever really bloom.

Untitled Triad of Haikus

The lone rain puddle
Catches the shimmering moon
As it mimics the sun

And mirrors the dreams
Of our long ago youth
With days eroded

Like the shores upon
Which we strolled, listening
To the crashing waves

Premium Member Autumn Leaves

I love walking in Autumn among those falling leaves of gold, yellow, red, and orange, twirling, whirling, leaping and dancing. Oh, I recall us holding hands as we strolled stopping sometimes to kiss as those leaves fell.

The Mystic Doors

Whilst in deep sleep
Found a strangest place amidst
Strolled somewhere anew

Creatures lead wrong ways
But still best life chose its path
Mystic doors were closed

Glimpsed one and the rest
Until one by one opened
Watcher accosted.

Beth

Beth
as she strolled down
the street latte in
her hand the breeze
caught her hair as
the sun on her rosey cheeks
she caught the eyes of
every guy driving or walking
down the street as she
smiles knowing the all
where watching and enjoying her

Premium Member Connie You Sparked Inner Flames With Your Poetry

You strolled into our life with the sunrise to sunset of stars.
A timeless beauty in poetry; with what your eyes saw, and heart felt,
to spark an inner flame in us with those moments you embraced.

As family with love, you embraced us.

A lizard in a leotard, a leopard in a froufrou, strolled off together, arm in arm, in search of Desmond Tutu. They stopped to drop some laundry off while walking through Ukraine; got waylaid when they picked it up, were never seen again.

too quickly the paragraphs of time we rèad.
hand in hand we strolled the pages of our years
standing fast against misfortunes we emerged
shaped by caring and forbearing hearts
refusing to imagine life devoid of one another

Premium Member A Walk In Solitude -SS

I went for a walk into solitude, until the outside world sounds were all blurred; and strolled among trees multicolored hued. Oh, delightful the songs of each winged bird, calming ... yet melancholy is my mood; change is near and my emotions are stirred.

Premium Member Wuthering Heights

Star crossed lovers strolled together
over moorland fields of heather...
Tragedy unfolds

Emily Bronte wrote thereof...
She, too, lost chance to find true love...
Death, again, grabs hold

Surmise compass points

The cold consummate summer
eyes unclued
beyond the veil of tears
South were pleasant lands
East was the golden sunrise
the winds strolled gently
West were Mike and Suzie dominion
smiles on their faces
offering no apologies to the wayfarers
they needed no clue
