Girl In a Tree

Some girl high in a tree
Surprised wife and me:
—how are you two?
—just fine, and you?
Fine, thank you, she said
As we strolled ahead,
Impressed less by her height
Than her manner, polite.

I liked every line, all of the rhyme, and especially the premise of politeness. Very enjoyable read indeed!

Thanks, Janet ... and that really happened. My wife and I still smile about it. Thanks again, Dave
