in his alley, I on my hill, 
each of us loving

the leap of our flames.
His are gazelles but mine

are just feathers

engulfed me

eyes fighting to stay open 
knowing the battle isn't mine
the Master is on the forefront

I stand back
enduring all that comes my way 
even the pain

knowing they are short-lived
