This winter's song
snow squalls are gone
Sunshine is nice
It melts the ice
Snow storms have passed
we've seen the last
Bring on the spring
that's what we sing...

Scintillating
She spoke of urbane gentlemen
and friendly squalls of rain
yet thanked Christ
for her baked scones
and well rotted manure
and gratitude for not being a Lioness,
a cause celebre never in the making
mopping the Freemasons floor...

Morningtide reverberates, the songstress calls,
buoyant curlews play in oceans of copious grass,
wave after wave shattering against dry stone walls,
meadows dance the rhythm of the farmers weatherglass,
implementing the orchestration from moortop squalls.

Winter
Winter brought
Rain and snow
Frost and fog
Slippy pavements
And icy water
A cold hand
For the labourer
And windy squalls
To shake trees
Lightning and torrents
Falling from the sky
And also a time of peaceful rest
In nature's closed eye.

High Fives
Giving high fives
to the giggling squalls of rain
I feel like I'm in Millionaires row
Laughing at the people
who cannot summon a smile
All I see are blueberry pies
not listening to the world's advice
If you have a hand
Give in to religious Chant
still insisting theres meaning in it
This madness is too sweet to resist...

Premium Member Edge of the World
I found
The edge of the world
Today
Blustering winds
An angry sea
Waves as high as mountains
What’s beyond
I could not see
Through the squalls
And white caps sea’s
How scared
I was
To glance upon
This very angry scene
That stretched all round me
What a desolate place
Of demonic sea’s
Howling winds
Looking out from
The shore
Of eternity...

Premium Member Heaven Opens
Wind whispers through the trees
Branches begin to sway
Leaves softly rustling
Sky turning grey

Air becomes colder
Mist descends
Distant thunder rumbles
Branches bend

Wind squalls
Thunder crashes
Intensifying sound
Sky grows bleak
Rain earthbound

Heaven opens
A powerful downpour
Relentless and aggressive
Nature nurtures her land
Glorious and impressive...

Premium Member Sitka Sunset
Lights flickered as evening woke
     the tired lagoon
where wrinkled reflections
and silhouettes of a million
      spruce steeples
tickled the horizon.

A chorus of slapping halyards
joined a colony of gulls
in their repertoire
above the docked fisherman.

Trees, painted half-white
by windward squalls
faded off like a black curtain
to await an encore at dawn......

Metaphoric Whirlwind
I am offended
by your metaphors,
they're vindictive
the way they dangle themselves
above my heartstrings,
periodically plucking
when one gets tangled in the wind

they just hang there
like an untame pennon
waiting to flap
for blatant recognition

my, how you crave those squalls
with such ravenous gluttony,
gnawing at the pellucid air
as though it were chewable...

Laredo Tornado
At sea there's squalls
as pressure falls
It's not surprising
as warm air's rising

From the cloud
there's thunder, loud
Lightning flashes
More thunder crashes

Hail stone falls
Large icy balls
Precipitating
Winds rotating

Air spins quicker
More lightning flicker
A funnel forms
'neath thunder storms

Touches down
Destroys the town
of Laredo
Class 5 tornado...
