Spinners -Haiku-
They spin in mid air
out of the water they come
cool looking dolphins.

I have never heard of this kind of dolphin before. I'm watching a nature show....

the year went by slow
slowly like a rock-a-bye
lullabies lulling
and here we are once again
spinners marking time — heave-ho*

Mustang Sally
I remember my Mustang the year '64
Fire engine red with four on the floor
Wheels with spinners, new at the time
Manual AC, truly devine!

Racing police, zippin past Vets
Mustang Sally, GOOD AS IT GETS!...

Premium Member If You Want To Give Me a Car
If you want to give me a car
make it out of chrome
give it silver spinners
with psychedelic trims

Christmas lights on the floor boards
and Tinkerbell floor mats
A fire truck siren would be perfect
Thank you in advance....

Premium Member Wind Spinners Throughout My Garden
Wind spinners throughout my garden
Perky and pretty
Moving with the wind
Sharing the truth of the day
In a hearty happy way
Makes the land lovable
Creates a magical feeling
Dazzling my imagination
Greeting faeries brownies and elves...

Premium Member Maybe Spring Is Finally Here
Baby buds sprang up last night
All over my verdant yard
Lilac buds, lambs ear, red bud tree buds too
Little nibs and nubs of green in every hue

The wind chimes are going crazy
And some of my spinners are twinkling clear
Seventy-five degrees today,
Maybe spring is finally here?...

Premium Member Kansas Winds
Kansas winds
Wind spinners whirl like crazy
Chimes sing with wild abandon
Leaves whip into mini wind tunnels

Kansas winds
Pick up the smaller animals
Toss them into the trees
Going for cars and trucks now

Kansas winds
A semi lands with a crash on the freeway
Crushing people in six little cars
No survivors

Kansas winds
Tornado watch
Tornado warning
Tornado is here!...

Muskoka Blues
Canada has the Muskoka blues-
Canada has the Muskoka blues,
Yea Canada, what great news.
Clearwater lakes and loons-
Yea clearwater lakes and loons,
Fishing with spinners and spoons.
Fishing with spinners and spoons.
Sing that line again with spinners and spoons.
Misty morning lakes and loons,
Yea Canada, what great news.
Canada has the Muskoka blues.
Yea - Canada has the Muskoka blues....

A Gemini quest
My bringer of cold droughts
And naughty new breathes.

Damn me please
This is my disease
Look away shy and blind
Pretend a history so kind
That all sin is invisible

But mix your poisons
Drown the signs
Cover the blemish
It’s all in your mind.

Look over your shoulder
Spin around it’s the same
Rock-n-roll spinners
Hiding their shame.

But spinners are flashy
Shine style and sleek
But under the covers,
Cowards and meek....

Premium Member My Daddy Is In Sales
My daddy is in sales the child told me.
He will get hubcaps for you, spinners, copper, whatever you want.
But he is careful about who he sells to.
Can he get me an I-phone?
Sure. He sometimes comes by them.
A stereo?
What’s that?
It’s something no one has any more.
Maybe. I’m not sure.
He doesn't sell to anyone, he reports.
He has to trust you before he sells to you.
I think this is curious.
certain the child has no idea how much information he is sharing....

Scap
Scrap
Ends of complex strings woven through years, just now unraveling
Me, no scrap of yarn to roll playfully around your hands
While time allows your soul to slowly cast new stitches
Onto differing sized needles with expected uneven tension.
Please knit your practice scarves without wrapping me
In the acrylic offerings of your heart
Mine has paid time for many rows complete,
To keep my hard fought cashmere soft I cannot chance…
A spinners wheel that yields yet twine....

An Old Sailor Remembers
An Old Sailor Remembers

I’m at the shore like long before
On old familiar sand
To search the seas
And memories
A spy glass in my hand

I spy with my little eye
A ship upon the sea
With sails aloft
The breeze so soft
It barely seems to be

The captain stands and barks commands
The crew all hear him shout
They jump right in
The spinners spin
She turns to come about

The sails flap; I hear the clap
She's flying wild and free
And I can see that she like me
Is where she's meant to be...
