Time Lapse
Wheels of time turning needles;
Worries of day twisting on spindle
Days passed boxing bundle
Night sparkles with hopes and kindles...

Blue
delicate flowers
a blue of morning glory
twining vines with grace
my old wooden spindle fence
has no power against winds

Solace
When they break in.
Weave me back together

Love threaded spindle heart;
Needle tongue

Stringing me up like puppeteers;
Keeping these pieces of my heart together....

Healing hands be
light and nimble
As needle is to thread
finger is to thimble
Fibers of white
unwind from spindle
As spark is to flame
Loving grace He doth kindle....

The Encore
Bowed my nose to the caps of my knees
with the spindle fingers raining on the summer breeze
laughed under breath while you played diseased
and backed my way out of your life - basically....

The Dolls Choice
A fragile doll sits with her back to the glass
slowly sinking in sand that fights through the funnel
one grain at a time it replaces threads from the spindle
an agonizing process with no option to deny...

Spindle Wood
If only Autumn
could relent its teeth
like a furnace burning bright
it celebrates the dearth
of confidence
like friends lost at sea
It claims lost souls
spindle wood
you've pawned our tomorrows
and adjourned our yesterdays...

Spindle
A fairytale
with you and I
beauty was wide awake
and I didn't hesitate.
I reached towards you,
a prick ensued,
something entered
my blood stream
and suddenly I
needed every ounce of you.
My high. My don't say goodbye.
My. My, my, my...
Love simplified...

Premium Member Alone No More
Channels within the windblown grass and contoured
shifting sand, stretch-probing as a spindle tree,
rouse echoing murmurs of the easeful sounds
of solitude, the slumberous sea, and me.
Entranced and mindful on this wild hypnotic shore,
Solitary maybe, and yet, alone no more....

Raindrops Fall
Raindrops fall from the sky
From day to day by and by
It pitter patters on a window
While almost like a spindle
It looks like teardrops
That haven't been forgot
Some are big drops
Some are small drops
Each in it's own way
When the days are gray
The Raindrops fall day and day...

YOUR QUIET ALLURE
DRAWS ME INTO
YOUR SEA OF SUBJECTIVITY
YOUR BRIGHT SMILE
COMPELS ME
YOUR PASSIONATE EYES
HOLD BACK A FURY
I AM ENTHRALLED
BY YOUR PARADOX
YOU SPIN YOUR THREADS
AND WAIT
I'VE COME TO YOU
YOUR TIMID PREY
I'M LOST
INSIDE YOUR WEB
I'M STRUGGLING
BUT I'M CAUGHT.

Covid Testing
The fuzzy white spindle spears my sinuses
as the nurse says “head back, more, more,”
as the back of my throat cries tears of blood,
as the nurse grasps the nape of my neck as if we were about to kiss,
as the back of my throat kisses the fuzzy white spindle,
as I must be back in two weeks for more, more....

Welcome to Japan where an Uber costs
two hundred dollars and a can of Spam.
Tokyo — all my pockets it exhausts.
My plane’s just arrived and I’m in a jam.

I turn the spindle and it cuts me — ouch!
I miss the lights and the tree and my wife.
A limo would have taken half my pouch.
I miss her long arms and I miss my life.

Spindle
Spiritually it spun me around in circles
Peering deep within my soul, it encircles
Indigo colored waves of the spectrum
Needlessly filtered out of introspection
Down into the rabbit hole of realization
Leery of the truth and capitalization of
Ending it too early

So I didn't and I kept spinning on this spindle
Orchestrated to end it on a higher note...

Just a Matter of Time
broken spindle lay on its side
the stair rail weakened
Can an hour glass turn itself?
no one hastens the seeming repose

splintered spindle reclines in peace
raggedy doll's eyes are closed
and the hour glass gathers dust
objects jog her memories of a fight

spindle in one scarred hand
doll clutched in the other
she turns the hour glass over
day of new beginnings...

I Feel Sad
I feel sad to see your state
A carcass, to be on a plate
Nature's beautiful creatures
Created in the deep blue ocean
Tailor made features
Spindle shaped, graceful motion
Lived in harmony
With your fellow beings
Large and small
Sharks and shrimps
But, in a world
where they terminate
Their own intimate
Will they ever spare you
My innocent friends!...

You
The story began
As stories do,
With time
Still in once.

Tale progresses
     Spindle un-spun
Ball on the left
     Butting toes
Fleece on the right
     Tangled fingers
In the middle
      A life
You.

Tale finished
     Spindle un-spun
Ball on the left
     Butting toes
Fleece on the right
     Tangled fingers
In the middle
     A death
You....

Prints of Daffodils
The bed covers grew longer and longer.
As the continuous thread was fed,
from the spindle to the spools unwinding and rewinding,
from spool to spool twisting and weaving its threads,
through the eyes of the needles,
and into stitches of rows that zigged zagged,
In alternating colors of yellows, blues, and reds,
with prints of daffodils across the covered beds....

Ramona In a Hammock
not brown grass, not spindle trees
                          nor sloppy suns embrace you;

you sway in a summer hammock,
                          your shape unique,
                          a collection of eyes and glass;

no description; time has limped to stop,
                          the hours windless,
a girl at quiet under the sky...

Cycle
The cell is undergoing mitosis. Spindle fibers pull the chromosomes away toward the poles of two daughter cells. A black widow spider with an hourglass on its back doesn’t seem to scare the porcelain doll at the spinning wheel. The stationary figure shows no emotion as the sands of time accumulate at the bottom. The process will soon start all over again.
