The Salty Navigator

They are steered like rudders on ships
Their port lies between my two lips
My day is a drag
Lest my mouth snags a bag
Of Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips

Making a Pass

is merely a mountain trail away ~ with a few hard slaps on the ass

and if snags get in the way ~ dangle a carrot to break the impasse

The Magnificent Poet

It’s not all easy being favoured the great gifted poet
All a deigning and stooping just to let people know it

But that’s not the worse of it and irritating much more
Is my fresh ironed white toga repeatedly snags the door

Typical

I'm really just a typical girl
With a tentative plan for life
And a longing for love
And an undying curiosity
I just want this to be perfect
Please, just no snags this time
No runs in my hose
Or scuffs on my heels
Just crisp, clean lines
That never wrinkle

Chewy On Ya Boot

Can anarchy have empathy?
Yes, in our land of Aussies,
We say no wucking furries,
Always more snags on the barbie,
Still listen to a bit of Acca Dacca,
More burgers and fries from Maccas,
Frocked up in trackie dakkies,
Yes, it's the land of Aussies,
Our form of anarchy has empathy!!!

Hang On To Loose Ends

death is very clear
                 not like blurred reality
               where snags just appear
           and if strings remain attached
              we can find the puppeteer

Kites Flight

Red kite loses flight
Bump bump bumping through the grass
She runs to recast
Kite snags on a jagged rock
Rips a hole inside girl’s heart

The Torn Dress - What Would You Have Done

It seems beauty
Walks through a door
Which has a nail
She didn't see...

It snags and pulls
Until she is left with a lace
Dress torn to pieces.

Naked in a room
Filled with people...
Her man leaves;
She stands alone
As he walks away.

He thinks
She has unveiled On purpose and never
Gives her a chance
To explain.

Cookie Cutters

Why do we long to conform to a defined ideal?
And why is that ideal so stagnant and predictable?
The patchwork quilt holds many more stories than the plain sheet
And yet a celebrity will die trying to maintain an image
How do we truly treasure the creative, entertaining snags that only visit on rare occasions?
Let’s bend the cookie cutters a bit.

"night Away"

Light shines through the morning window...
Through your long dark hair my desire grows..
Barely dressed as we pack our bags...
A night or two away and far from life's snags...
A dinner for us is a candlelit escape...
For five star room we must close the drapes...
Lay and watch the city steal the moon...
For we groove to sounds of our sensual tunes...

Waiting's Knife

…waiting’s knife
slices time in broader swaths
stacking jagged moments
chaffing minutes raw, in existential unease
…one second snags the next
                       …the knife dulls
moments fray and shred
tomorrow folds today; time’s teeth - rounded
memories meld a transcendent balm
deeply rubbed by fading voices

a hospice hallway dims…
one light - grows brighter

Raspberries and Lilacs

Raspberries and Lilacs

Wanting to go back,
heart snags on reality...
wanting to unravel time,
pluck the years off
one by one
Better times paint
pictures in the mind,
but they are air-brushed
renditions

Wanting to bathe
in the perfume of lilacs
Raspberry essence
No choice now

Walk to knock
on Death's black door
Denied entrance
No gilded invitation
No crashing this party

Slag and Dirty Rags

A good thought conceived in the soil of positivity
making its way through shard and slag
finding its way home into the heart.
The slag is cleverly staggered and thickening
filled with thorns and snags and dirty rags
The good thought forced to play pachinko
with a venomous society.

Battered, fanged and chipped
the good thought's ragged journey end
has it found its way into the honey hole
will there be much of anything left.

Always a Widow

Here squats a Black Widow spider,
who sups a swig of sweet cider.
     He spies her there,
     scoots close to share
and sips the hot brew beside 'er.

She darts with aim to devour,
her size gives her lethal power.
     She fakes a hug,
     then snags him snug;
true bliss defines his last hour.

For some who deceive are gifted
to mask when power is shifted.
     The prey's surprise—
      he's soon incised—
his parts all broken and sifted.

Brassiere

Buxom Barbara burned her bra never again lift and separate or cross your heart to contemplate she likes to feel her bosom counts when flouncing down the boulevard Barb now snags more bounce to the ounce abroad in the world without a single care it never fazed her one bit nor a whit when this would jounce most men to stop and stare as if they'd not seen such before and she'd trounce 'em should they dare to pounce a crystal-clear case of less is more
