hillside
cold, white
snowing, running, sledding
ice, plastic, bone, blood,
thawing, melting, flowing
warm, red,
hospital
Wings
Quill-strings
Wide spreading
Like bob-sledding
As though fox-wedding
Delight shredding
Spearheading
Crane-king

Sunny, warm
Swimming, boating, sunning
Sky, airplane, ocean, seashells
Skiing, sledding, snowball throwing
Cold, blistery

A sleepy little girl once said
she’d like to stay at home in bed
they said she’d miss the fun
with sledding just begun
so she jumped up quickly instead
In Alaska they make crazy weddings
Participants endure some rough sledding
Bride and groom pledge to be true
In a large, freezing igloo
Consummation requires extra bedding
The snow is falling
Everything is covered in white
Stores are decorated
With colorful lights and decorations
Children building snowmen
And sledding
With joy in their eyes and heart
laughter of children
playing in the winter’s snow
seasonal delight,
bundled up in heavy coats
sledding down the steep hillside.

Snowman - A Didactic Cinquain
Snowman
Large, abominable
Sledding, happening, ornamenting
Sometimes I'd dream about snowballing

Sledding times past
Linger into view
An adaptation,
A graduation,
Newness of goals foreseen,
"Two day old moon,
Tell of a journey's end,
Listen also if you May
I'll tell of odious ramblings..."
Romping air flying runs
Rule space for Christmas fun.
Rare deer perform roof sails.
Ready female and males
Roam earth on sledding rails.
Rudolph no zero, but
Red nosed and loved hero.
As a kid, I prayed for snow days; They were the greatest things.
Slip-sliding, icy rides; sledding on carpet of snow; sheer ecstasy.
I loved snow days but, back then we had very few.
verbs pranced across my mind
gardening, wiggling, giggling, slipping, sliding
jiggling, and sometimes sledding
jumping, jousting, boasting, ghosting
they were too fast to catch
but I ran after them, trying my best
Winter slopes abound,
Flakes of white, are all around
More are coming down
Let's find a hill,
We'll sled down it,for a thrill
Trek back to the top
This is a Haiku/ Senryu combo...Want to go sledding !
Imagine sweet winter, through wishing white snow,
Leaves trees and foliage, with a delicate glow.
With the children off sledding, and the cocoa so sweet,
'Tis no wonder why winter, is such a great treat!
Falling flakes
Of what we call snow
Who will know where to go
Flying and swirling
Into the cool crisp air
Smiling children
As it goes into their hair
Sledding and laughing
With their pearly whites
Winter Is such a sight!
White forts we freeze in
Snow men and women
Playground for sledding
We’ll stay out all day
Flakes bring excitement
Sometimes sticky
Slushy on streets
From white to gray
Fun to roll
Make us laugh
Blowing
Fluffy
Snow
Sledding with her cousins every year
Reminding her that Christmas is near
She races up and down hills with a sled
Dreams of Christmas cookies in her head
Sweet dreams that night in her toasty bed
Christmas memories with her cousin Ned
We traverse fifty years in our minds at the speed of light
reliving joyous moments from the past’s pure delight
Going forward though, toward a future we're dreading
stormy weather’s ahead ~ all uphill sledding
Gelid winter winds
are creating drifts of snow
The perfect time for sledding
Trying to keep warm
I bundled up in woolens
And... played for hours in the cold

Peaceful is the dusk
When snow is softly falling
And ruby sun's just faded
Snowy hills beckon
to eager ones, sledding soon
in the gladsome days of youth!

Summer
balmy, sunlit
boating, trekking, picnicking
holiday, enjoyment, chill, blizzard
skiing, sledding, snowshoeing
frosty, gloomy
winter.

bright azure blue sky
cold, crisp air circulating
snow lies crustily
winter resists death struggle
no stopping boys sleigh riding

Hooray, hooray - we have snow
Sledding down the hill we go!
There's always snow angels too
Beats inside with nothing to do!
Throwing snowballs at each other
Maybe with sister and/or brother
Having tons and tons of fun
But will be nice when winter's done!
pumpkin spice coffee
or mulled hot apple cider
october magic
pecan pie muffins
cinnamon hot chocolate
as the red leaves fall
white november days
eggnog in the afternoon
sledding at twilight
december teatime
a fruitcake on the table
and cardinals sing
(S)now covered hills
(L)aughing with the speed
(E)agerly starting over again
(D)riving the sled, trying not to tip
(D)iving in the snow when it stops
(I)nitiating races to the bottom
(N)oses and cheeks red in the cold
(G)oing home to have hot cocoa
