Backwater Junction

Backwater junction in a backwoods town
Rusty and creepier than a carnival clown
Timber rattlesnakes hide their slanted eyes
No one visits this woodpile, no big surprise

Autumn Light

slanted autumn light
gentle breeze shifting shadows
summer’s soft goodbye

Perfect Universe

Perfect universe

I gave her
  the moon,
 she handed me
  the stars
     and together
  our love
    created a
      perfect universe

Ok, slanted Monoku :)

Slanted

• I've never really noticed how slanted the walls look • Almost like they're about to fall • I'd once leaned on them, they started to creak • Echoing through the hall

Quiet Moments

Quiet Moments

Sunlight beaming through the slanted shutters
Tiny dancing dust particles floating mid-air
Underneath desk a sleeping dog snores
Vanishing baby dreams
In my quiet moments, they haunt me.

Poems For Fun - Due To Distinctive Points

With his slanted eyes
like a tiger,
and with his nose
like an eagle,
His lover’s face
a beautiful stretch of countryside;
I think they have a lot
in common,
and soon,
we might see them
as a groom and bride

The King of Golden Gulls

Why am I in morning in
here the slanted season,
and now you've befriended me
like the King Of Golden Gulls,
and now my blinking has retired,
leaving me in broad seismic senses,
stretching my gods to cover what I like.

Me At the Rocks

Heavy on the rocks
My weight burdens Earth's unrest
Slanted eyes recall

What brought me here now
Seeking like winter fauna
An alert peace stills

Sonorous in clouds
Above my deep distance
Birds seem to call me

The Journey

Can I journey to perfection
On the rails of evolution
Or must I relinquish my ticket
To a Conductor unseen, and to me unknown?
Is the road upward
More slanted than downward
And can I know why
Before the end of the trip?

Lips Service

Forging through
Destiny will befall a crimson head
 Wrapped in silver tongue

Slanted, the gift jury rigs
 A court appointment dusting
 Off today's wig

A jester posed as unsketched
 Captures an ear briefly
 Searching the discount rack

In Our Infinite Return

I blame it on the light
pretending. Auburn bright and Autumn
too.
Fainted dim of our December
imparts the solemn fall of all to
view.
Crass comes the stilted body, amalgam
in the slanted rain. The April rains a timbered
soak.
The rings. O time! O time remains.

Phosphenes

In disbelief
Phosphenes shine
All I see
Is only mine
The trails
The ghosts
The U.F.O.s
The me I am
The highs and lows
Glimpses of truth,
Wasted youth
Implausible outcomes
Photo booths
Distorted views
Slanted trees
The little sights
I can’t unsee

Ixia

Seasoned daylight ascends
dominion happening
upon the bends of merriment
for every venue she sojourns
the fruit of her existence
blooms with each slanted petal
as they settle among the squares
cleaved within the terrain
a beauteous quadrant affirmed

Bite Sized Number 83

When you are feeling extra blue. You just wish the earth would bury you, In your mind let the earth make a mound. Gather all the joy you have ever found. Don't let anything in life seem so slanted. Tell the world that you've just been planted.

Bound For the New World

We are chained together
Beneath the belly of
This cold dark slave ship
Drowning in this sea of humanity
Hundreds of captured slaves
Peeking through the wooden cracks
Praying for the slanted light
To touch and free their souls
This human cargo
Bound for the new world

Freedom

A must for you and me- Freedom is a gift we often take for granted; It's not free. Not guaranteed. Must keep it straight- never slanted; Our creed- Our prize! Free-will planted; Rise! A must for you and me! Must keep it straight- never slanted! Rise!

One Tear

One tear slides down a slanted cheek
A silver line, the only sign

Of anguish which she does not speak
Insistent smiles, bright by design

Thin fortitude, her whitewashed shrine
Gilded answers rain, lily meek

She lies and says that she is fine
When truth is too fearsome to seek

Little White Lies

Little nothings
Unimportant
Mere slips of the tongue
Omitted truths
Slanted or tinted
Not meant to hurt

Each one
A drop
In that ocean
Drifting them apart

Raspy Words

So many are saying things unkind, disparaging or hurting some other. Saying whatever crosses their mind, and often the truth they will smother. Often each story is slightly slanted, with a straight face, many belie. Once it’s news it can’t be recanted, and half a truth is still 100% lie.

God

God I know you love me,
you said so yourself,
I'm no better than anyone else.

Please forgive people who kill,
as I walk up and down this slanted hill.

Until you decide to call us home,
think of me, I'll think of you.

Walking with you on your very path,
or sitting here doing math,
your with me, God you are here!

I'Ve Been Taken

I've been Taken Written: by Tom Wright 1/27/03 I’ve been taken for coffee, also, taken for a ride. I've been taken for dinner, and I've had taken, my pride. I've been taken to the cleaners, taken there left ego slanted. The two places I refuse to be taken, is for a fool or for granted.

Shamegasket

the shamegasket…
sealed to its shame

pounding pistons
steam-hiss-bang

don’t let go
won’t let go

polymer of repression
weakening, yielding…

No!

slam-whish-clang
drive-control-wield

must…hold
can’t…help me…oh no

letting…go…now
yes, that’s it

Blow! Blow! Blow!

oil-stained junkyard
slowly spinning

slanted yellow moon
mocks twisted hearts

Deleted

Everyone's entitled to
Whatever's his opinion
For no one holds the power
Over intellect's dominion.

Yet sometimes it's preferred
To keep those slanted thoughts inside
Since sharing them may paint a picture
Others may deride.

No one likes a message when
It's shoved down someone's throat
And that's the reason why I just
Deleted what I wrote.
