I'm reaching for Jesus
as he securely takes hold of me,
firmly and surely
through the blood that once was shed.
I'm reaching for Jesus
while he calls for me to come,
though faith and in Grace
Jesus forever is mine.
Is the one that finds the heart
A true mystery
The courage to be me
Only our Lord
Could hem such a strong cord
Tightly and securely
The Lord has thee
Our place
Embraced

small secluded valley...
morning awakens
rainbows of color
flowers glisten with fresh dew...
animals abound
fluffy clouds floating
sunshine brings natural prizms...
heaven, earth collide
The trio of porcine creatures, various dwellings did construct,
One straw, one stick...and one securely glued with brick.
A foul mouthed canine villain, chose their lives to disrupt,
One puff, one blow...but the last made him ever so sick.
Jesus gathered a little lamb, and held it close to His heart.
It nestled there so securely, that from it He could not part.
So, He carried it in His arms to an eternal home above,
To a place He had prepared, filled with peace, and joy, and love.
Those smiles bloomed, blossomed fawned
As tears now wander
Upon hearts squander
Love's grave has securely, purely, spawned
We kissed aflutter and danced in shimmer
And my hands apprised
But now glanced disguised
For the shadows glare dolour and dimmer
If friends were flowers
surely I would not pick any flowers
I would water them with waters of respect and dignity
I'd let them grow in the garden of my heart
and cultivate with intimacy and care
that way they will be securely mine
till time do us apart

Dreams will have to wait.
Anchored securely to this laboring duty,
Angry that I must work until eight.
Yesterday's chores were not completed on time,
Yet it should not be treated as a crime!
this road you travel
clearly marked
signs posted showing the way
no surprises will you encounter
no deep secrets to befuddle
spread your sleeping bag next to my fire
gaze peacefully at the moon overhead
as the angels spread stardust and you sleep
rest securely in the depths of my love

Mr. Fear
Hello, my old "friend," Mr. Fear,
I see you’ve brought your butterflies;
You have stiffened the stomach
And tightened taut the eyes.
What will I find in the reaches of my mind,
Some mystery mean of the unanswerable kind?
The goodness of God is very near.
A prayerful petition will securely you bind.
My memories took flight from Spring's rookery,
Nurtured by Summer's warm seas and
Trade winds steady under dynamic skies,
Reinforced by Autumn's harvest and happenstance
Pray my memories remain deep within me like a
Fortress securely established on a rock mass,
High on golden hills, impregnable,
As Winter's cruel seas and merciless winds approach
You are the newest thread
in the tapestry of my life -
once neatly-patterned,
but now criss-crossed
and sig-zagged
with the vibrant strands
of your sister.
You, too, will be interwoven
into the fabric of my life
and be interlaced through
its brightness and hues
and be intricately entwined
and securely knotted
with one golden thread -
Love.
