Gnome

The lonely gnome stares
at the dirt wondering if a rodent
will pop up to ask if there
is more fruit being grown this spring.

Race on for that cheese, little rodent, don't lose sight of the prize
Always use your size
To the best advantage, you must live and rise!

In the Night

from a distance, eyes --
feline, canine, rodent and
fowl -- on me aflame.
no matter which they are, all --
faceless -- gleam hungry and strange.

Night’s restless rodent,

I just nod off all day long.

                                           I am nocturnal.

Premium Member Rodent For Sale

When I chance upon a lone squirrel
The vibe hardly approaches a thrill

You think he's cute, waving his bushy tail
Congratulations! Here's your rodent for sale

Cautiously, creepily, carefully, camouflaged, calmly chewing
A rodent? Bunny? Mole? Rabbit? Something obviously dead.
Tenaciously chewing, happily chewing, swallowing their sweetness.

Premium Member Harvest Moon

Orange and yellow pumpkins mock the harvest moon
Faces of imagination will carve their mortal doom
A tiny rodent mouses around the moon lit sky
Soon my favorite pumpkin will be my favorite pie

Premium Member Persnickety Porcupine

Persnickety porcupine are you a rodent then?
Are those quills at the end of your tiny chin-chin?
To the ocean, have you ever travelled or been?
Swimming with porpoises next to your prickly skin?
Form: Monorhyme

Premium Member Hamster

Hairy little rodent,
Happily nibbling seeds.
Hungry, he stuffs his cheeks,
Hoarding food for later.
Having rested all day,
He now proceeds to play.
Hear him now on his wheel.

Run Rodent Run

So scurry on my furry friend
Before you get your due
My dog is in the kitchen
And he can swallow you
He doesn’t like intruders
Those that come into his house
So scurry on my furry friend
Or you’ll be a dead mouse

This weird, eerie rodent sparks such adoration
A trip to his park's cause for great celebration
The plaques's spread by such vermin
But I'll spare you the sermon
Disneyland, here I am, on my dream vacation!

You are a rodent
to a snake if you walk in
                                                              its territory.

Premium Member offending the art teacher eye roll

The instructions were easy.
Invent and draw a new kind of alien.
My alien was a combination between a rodent and a dragon.
I put a cigarette in its mouth and gave it black teeth.
This offended the art teacher, who was a smoker.
Ask me if I care.
His nicotine pores offend me.

Violence

Violence is an anger-loaded wagon
Inventing new man as a rodent
Often the violent acts like a beast
Lost victim’s dignity rests in garbage bin
Ego swells and explodes as bomb
Normal reason locked in cupboards
Conquest and destruction a game
Evacuation of humanity is heroism

I Know a Master

He is loved by the class
his words emit holy fire
of inspiration and hope
but he is a silent rodent
that eats the roots of life
of the innocents he has
king Herod of ancient
but a weird one of today
determined not to kill
but eat the chickens slowly
and their mothers as well

Beware: Message From the Universe

Time passes, you think you are now free,
The world may not know
But the truth lies with me,
You hide like a rodent, in these rainy days
You may have fooled others, but you cant fool me
Your lies don's scar the universe,
But yourself, what a human being!
A s time might forget,
But not me

Premium Member Rabbits

Rabbits

Resplendent ears and tails,
rodent-like; but unlike
rats or mice, they are loved.
Renowned for Easter, they're
rumored to lay eggs; while
rural hares, their cousins,
routinely grace menus.

Oga Lastma

Just like the vulture watches its prey
From atop the roof top
Scanning every moving rodent
And rotten s by the gutter,
He watches eagle-eyed,
Every car on the traffic lane.
He watches with keenness ready
To pounce on any traffic offender.
Not because he respects the law
but for self-gratification.

10/24/2023?

I had a most unique, unusual dream!
I woke, wide-eyed and there they stood!
Five meerkats, so darling, not made of cedar wood.

Of the notorious, great mongoose family are they.
Rodent eaters, and plants, by moonlight and day.
Traveling in packs of ten or more, to hunt and to play!

Premium Member She Did It Again

It was dead on arrival,
no chance of survival,
the tiny brown mouse.
She did it again,
my cat gifting friend,
at least it's not loose in the house..
Be it mouse or shrew,
would make a potent rodent stew, but
not so appealing to me.
Stir it until blue,
and put it in a witches brew
but I won't want that recipe.

Premium Member A New Dawn

For millions of years the dinosaurs thrived,
but when a meteor struck earth, all the dinosaurs died.
Tiny rodent like mammals adapted and survived,
evolving into many varied species of every shape and size.
From these tiny little creatures would evolve you and I.
It was a new dawn. The age of the mammals had arrived.
