A fancy home on wheels,
Drinks and snacks packed,

On the road at last.

National parks to explore   
Campfire stories told   
Getting together,

A bucket list voyage,  
Coast to coast we go,  
Not a care in the world,  
Where we stop, nobody knows....

always be with us 

who say there’s a way
to make it disappear
but how is that done?

So far they haven’t said.
America needs a
roadmap with details.

If someone knows the way 
to banish poverty today 
they must tell us how 

before hungry people spend 
another night on cardboard  
sleeping in the streets.

Below the surface of my skin
A roadmap lies; it’s always been
A part of me that lives inside
But nowadays, it’s magnified.

Those thin blue lines, once hidden, now
Are visible and thus allow
Whoever sees those veins to gauge
The proof of my advancing age.

Of course, the rest of me, as well,
Gives other ways that they could tell;
Yet, as that roadmap’s path proceeds,
It makes me think of where it leads....

to close head-heart gap,
working hand in glove,
thus aligned with love.

Heart’s the seat of soul,
head, discerning role,
to navigate earth,
whilst in bubbling mirth.

Inner conflict ends,
when our ego bends
to voice of conscience,
with devout patience.

Heart is heavens gate.
Why for do we wait?
Go in now, go in.
God’s abode’s within.

The light becomes blocked

Its story an old one

I look into the mirror
And feel sad at what I see – 
A wrinkled replica of
A more vibrant, younger me.

On certain days, it’s not so bad;
Perhaps the change is subtle?
But looking at a photo album,
There is the rebuttal.

For just a year or two ago,
I think I looked okay,
At least a whole lot better
Than how I appear today.

But hey – a face is like a map
That marks the paths we’ve chosen
And all the ruts and potholes, well,

You think that she’s happy
But just look again

That nobody knows
Her smile is now painted

like waves on the ocean

What the hell

Open door look at ground

no ground 

only endless carpet 

of locusts

far as the eye can see

moving rolling

chilling

slam door take off

I remember

crunching sound under tires

for miles

I shiver...

  His roadmap reeks of discontinuity
And that is why his home's a cardboard box
  He's squandered each and every opportunity

A fancy lady passerby, mercy in her eyes
  Once offered him her hand, if he could just stay sober
But that very winter's night he'd gotten drunk
  Next morn the gig was over...

Now's he's living on the street again
   Hoping to survive
Another round of ice and snow ~
  Odds so long: He's all of twenty-five...
