for war it tears and never mends

forbearance key to make amends

or future generations rend

for war will tear and never mend

Premium Member Faithful Companions

Aches and pains, my back they rend
     Day and night without end
  To these I painstakingly attend
         Faithful companions
       Would that they mend!

Pretty Hair

Her eyes drip down scorn
Like pus from running sores
Every word edged and barbed
To rip and rend and tear
She lives to laugh at suffering
But oh she has such pretty hair

Lady

Lady,

In me you did inspire
This poem like wildfire--
For your beauty is so deep
You make me feel small and meek--
From me my heart you did rend
Because from heaven you did descend

Fais Confiance a Dieu

Tu en croira pas tes yeux
En amitié
Tu est bien aimé
Parmis vos ennuies
Rend lui ton appui
Son épaule toujours là
Même si tu y pense pas
Jésus-Christ sera notre encre
Miracle après miracle

Premium Member A Violent Sneeze

The best thing in life is a really good sneeze Explodes with such ferocity, it brings down trees Actually thrills me no end Torn undies it does rend Makes a hurricane seem like a gentle wee breeze

Norma

Nature's first child with nature's passion blend
Ornated flower where the sun's passion rend
Religious things from the flawed hand of men
Melodious to hear, to dance but never bend
Astute wonder that from Orpheus' lyre descend
Form: Acrostic

Blake Lively

Is
Unwriting lend
Trample undered doubt
Nill grace, staggered taunt
Farthings tormented delays
Whispered daughter on hilt

Aphrodite sours the lengths rend

Milkened ponds
Battles fetch, torn and bent
To no hearthed bends hallow he crawls
boy

Love

always take the time to send it
have the fortitude to bend it
never fail to carefully tend it
be ever willing to mind and mend it
never fail to stoutly defend it
always give but never lend it
for fear that you might rend it
know that nothing can transcend it

Premium Member It Reflects Our Firmament El

if its water element
then its all a big event
freely given its God sent

mirroring our firmament,
liquid matter can't be bent
cuz its fluid it wont rend,
if its water, element.

Pieces of My Heart

Pieces of my heart
Left in so many places
Like so many shreds of paper

Rend into little, tiny bits
Like confetti
Used in New York parades

Each tiny bit torn away
Leaves a scar
Which may never heal

Pieces of my heart
That I gave away
And that were not returned

Lose

this drains me
falling away
leeching from the source
they can't wait to rend your soul
to kill your chances
one more time
but you couldn't read it in the papers
hear it on the radio
let me explain
or maybe not
just throw yourself
at my face

Shepherd

By serving God I serve man,
  but I cannot serve God by serving man;
  the horse is put before the cart;
the sheep shall scatter to the wind....
for I shall see sheep, yet not the herd ----
  one will fall away,
  the rest will follow,
and the wolf shall rend them piecemeal

Advance

We sprint,
We sprint,
We shan’t tarry within the shadows!
Give us the light.

We were not fabricated
To be degraded,
To be heavily degraded,
And narrow volume of respiration
That these lavender things have invented.
We sprint,
Oh, Lord,
We sprint!
We must rend these shadows,
We must find the light.

Bad Monkeys

Cacophony of chaos
Screeching through the night
A barrel-full of simian rage

Nearly human primate hands
Smash, throw, rend and tear
Destroying at random

The mark of primitive destruction
Stamped on every shard and scrap
A monkey nightmare
Spilling over into reality

A trace of humanity
Perhaps?

The Only Birds That Never Sleep

Silver'd whisps,
diaphanous, floating 'neath
the ether, flying high like
prophecy or prayer.

Black forbidding masses
rumbling out their message,
jagged bolts of lightning
rend the air.

Innocuous or deadly,
omens to discerning eyes,
it would behoove us all
to heed the skies.

Clouds

Silver'd wisps, diaphanous, floating 'neath the ether,
flying high like prophesies from God.
Black forbidding masses rumble out their warning,
jagged bolts of lightning rend the air.
Innocuous or deadly, oft they're in disguise,
it would behoove us all to heed the skies.

Premium Member Yearning Lips

     Hearts designed to beat together
         torn asunder, grope and stumble
     Seminal streaks of lightning flash
         thunderbolts rend and rumble

     Lips yearning, pried apart
        demonic forceps ice-cold-sterile
      Amnesia, sweet sleep imparts
        Love’s embrace, for aye imperiled

Mans Best Friend

When We Took Walks
It Was You Who Ran

You Always Thought It Was All My Land
You Took Such Joy In Everything

I May Be Poor But To You I'm King

You'd Risk Your Life To Protect What's Mine
Take All My Scraps and You Would Dine

My Love For You

Was Easy To Rend

This Is My Valentine

Release From Hell What Poetry Is To Me

The written word is a release from hell,
Every day life;
Sometimes one can’t tell,
That one can live mundane and full of strife.

Inner thoughts escape free in form,
The anguish lost in the soul somewhere to the east;
Ideas formed in love and hate from an emotional storm,
The words ebb from the soul to rend the hidden beast.

Hanging On To Nothing

I am hanging on to nothing as tight as I can
my fingers cramp and ache from my firm grip
how can you hold what was never yours
as I rend the fabric of these dreams

still I grasp, in my waking hours and sleep
hanging on to nothing as tight as I can
my hands will let go before my heart
my mind deserted this memory long ago
