Aches and pains, my back they rend
     Day and night without end
  To these I painstakingly attend
         Faithful companions 
       Would that they mend!

Gershon, It pains me to read this poem of these two companions. FWIW I suffer them too. Lower back pain is often caused by inflammation of the tiny piriformis muscle. This muscle presses on the sciatic nerve. Turmeric, aloe vera, or better still St. John's Wort all work for neuropathic pain. -Richard
