Reuben Cobb (My Grandfather)
Daughter disconnected from her father.
It took years for you two to reconnect.
I had only one chance to talk to you.
The cancer took you, before we could meet....

Reunion
Relatives gather to
Reconnect and update,
Reminisce and relax,
Reveling together.
Rowdy at times but fun.
Revelations are shared.
Repeat again next year.

Sounds of the City
The joyful sounds of the city
of laughter, of merriment are gone
We've been exiled from downtowns
back to our humble homes
The message for us this year
is that we are not alone ~
Reconnect with family
Restore God to His throne...

Friends
Many friendships develope as some fade. There are many times to cherish. True friends
come to your side during rough times. Memories you want treasure, and some you want to
forget. You stay in touch by phone and e-mail.Sometimes you lose contact with a friend, but
reconnect in an unexpected place....

Zen mode
if we attempt to shift into silence
does it not signal a movement
from turbidity to tranquility
implying aversion to noise
wherein we feel not whole
and so seek to reconnect
with essence of presence
in a continuum of stillness
that we rest in heart’s abode
reuniting with truth of our being...

Nerd
your touch comes second to being sun-kissed by summertime
but i come alive when your four eyes reconnect with mine
other couples were on the abandoned beach that afternoon
but they no idea I was writing the last few stanzas of my marriage vows
- not even you
while I was reading, you called me nerd.....

Nothing Is Permanent
Where once my heart seemed shattered
(A million shards of crystal deflecting light)
My eyes, as well, remained so dim
(For nothing to any longer gaze upon)
Yet, somehow I had known, we’d reconnect
(You are the light that does so shine, still)
As the attraction that once was, would win
(You simply are the reason, you’re as the sun)...

Love Reincarnated
A thin flicker of hope,
A subtle glance cast.
Momentary blindness,
A vision from the past.
A stout heart tested,
A memory so clear.
The face of an angel,
From a bygone year.
A gasping of breath,
A time to reflect.
Karma so electric,
Two souls reconnect.
Instant recognition,
And no words to say.
Lovers hand in hand,
As if were yesterday....

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US
I stood there
wanting to find a way to reconnect
to reach inside and say the words
to touch her soul
and make her mine
She glanced my way
and looked right through me
as if I wasn’t there
when ever so casually she
tossed her sunbleached hair
off her rounded shoulders
And it was then
I wondered if she had ever cared

Reconnecting
Spoken words are as cryptic
as Chinese restaurant menus.
Combo fifteen please
hold the rice and cashews.
Music is music, so I thought
belting those hymns with enormous
volume, lest God be disappointed
and walk out on the performance.
Silence, a useless treasure
when trying to reconnect.
with friends, it’s always easy
as nothing, is written in cement....

I Will Always Love You
I ache for your love
I want to reconnect,
We've had time apart,
Time to reflect.
Is there any chance
That we can turn around,
Get our relationship
Back on solid ground.
We've both been wounded,
Both hurt so bad,
Surely we can get back
To what we once had.
I will love you always
Whatever the outcome,
Living life without you
Leaves me feeling numb....

Bbfn My Friends - Work Is Calling
I am off up North.
Do I care?
Yes because I have friends up there..
So if I am not on here..
It's not because I don't care
I will be away awhile
But hope to still make you smile
When I get a chance or two
To reconnect with you
But life sometimes has a habit
That best intentions
Cannot hack it
But work and friends
Must come first
Until my next verse

The Angry Text
What is going through his mind?
I do not understand this man sometimes
He gets mad every time we reconnect with a text
then he flexes with his thumbs typing words,
to hurt me like, a witch casting a hex
Do you think I should be upset? Or do I forget what he just text?
Should I continue to flex my thumbs, to send a reply? No!
I will delete his text and erase him from my cell, before it turns into a big mess.

Cobwebs of My Inner Self
The cobwebs of my inner self
Brush themselves out of the way
And shut their eyes again,
In a sloth-like way
The alarm is going off,
infuriating them.
It cannot be that time already.
I shut my eyes tightly
Trying to retain the dream
I am sure was a great one
Wanting to reconnect to the
zombie-like trance I was in a few minutes ago.
The incessant alarm is still going on in my mind’s eye
Forcing my eyes open, unfortunately....

Abandoned
The distance becomes greater,
the worthiness is small
as the light fades gentle,
where tears course down a wall.
The past does not have meaning;
the future is not here,
the heart that’s beating colder
has chose to disappear.
Nobody hears the pleading …
nobody shares the pain.
No one wants to reconnect
this one link in the chain.
Abandoned and forsaken,
by not a single word,
abandoned and forsaken …
a voice no longer heard....

Spoon Fed Lies
The tears are bursting from my eyes
Still choking on your spoon fed lies
From scars and pains my heart has bled
No love remains from all you said
The cold indifference in your voice
Has left me now without a choice
Our chance to reconnect is gone
It's best for me to now move on
And though I know my mood is black
I say that there's no turning back
So here I lie my eyes still red
I pray there's better days ahead

A Night For Pizza
After a bustle of the week,
a moment to unwind,
a chance to reconnect,
and stay out with friends.
This provides a choice,
with a combined effort,
and with its magical sort
that draws a myriad of thoughts.
Perhaps the way to address it
can reach a familiar cadence;
it’s what nature throws at us
to accept the need within us.
A victory of decision made
has got a space to consider
c’mon, let’s go my friends
to eat pizza at least for tonight....

Autumn
Her majestic wind changes the season
Bringing forth warmth and a bit of chills
The colours of her myelinated beauty display through nature
Red, brown, caramel, purple
While bringing forth harvest to those who cherish her offerings
She's moody, but has great intentions
If you trick her, she won't treat you good
Her skies can be gray, but she has happiness
Her forecast can be teary with rain clouds
But there's always a day of Thanksgiving

Lyric
Interlink
In the mirror is a galaxy,
It's white and black and blue.
It gives to me an alloquy,
Then relocates in my shoe
The mouth of God is open
Her words are soft but firm
A web of parallels unbroken
A new knot at every turn
A day of true connection
A night of sweet decay
I pray for loss of circumspection
I dip my hands into the clay
I do not know for certain
But I cannot not believe
Let me pull back the darkened curtain
Let me reconnect with Eve...

Good Night My Friends
Good night my friends, may we all meet again
tomorrow or sometime soon.
And should we neglect to indeed reconnect
I pray that your garden still blooms.
In summer and spring and the good Lord brings
you plenty of love and good cheer.
And sooth all your sadness and fill you with gladness
Now and throughout all the years.
Good night my friends, from now 'till the end
of whatever good races remain
for both you and I until we can fly
I bid you the deepest sweet dreams....

With All Tonight
Illuminating in the sky
Big full moon mounting high
Moment to glorify
Nocturnal nature standing by.
Stillness in the nighttime found
Sequestered place of softened sound
Oh How I find it quite profound
Alluring me to space around.
Seize the time when magic draws
Close to you for greater cause
As when you stop to pay respect
One with all and reconnect
Balancing elemental
Recognising all potential
We play our part within without and
This is what it’s all about !...
