Cobwebs of My Inner Self

The cobwebs of my inner self Brush themselves out of the way And shut their eyes again, In a sloth-like way The alarm is going off, infuriating them. It cannot be that time already. I shut my eyes tightly Trying to retain the dream I am sure was a great one Wanting to reconnect to the zombie-like trance I was in a few minutes ago. The incessant alarm is still going on in my mind’s eye Forcing my eyes open, unfortunately.
