Life - the Course
A baby is born
Two dates separated by hyphen
Hyphen or dash: that's life

II
We fall in love -
One day one, or both, will die

III
We are born -
We learn; even think deep thoughts -
And die....

Ode to my Students
Tiny hands
Pure hearts
Silly smiles
Footprint art
Cheerful shrieks
New found words
Belly laughs
Singing heard
As I open up the door
These are the sounds I hear
And everyday it gives me a reason
To have a smile stretching from ear to ear

Young Uns
I am the stereotype of a middle-age lady with grey hair
Working as a preschool teacher

Wearing mumu dresses in bright colors

A Sunday school teacher wanting to make it a full-time job

To whittle myself a new profession

I'm not the brightest crayon in the box
But, I know I can do it!...

Bubble Guppies
A nick jr show that's popular among many young kids.
It deals underwater creatures that solve problems through food.

I'm obviously too old for it and released way after my time,
But it's good to see what the younger generation of kids are into.

It seems nice and cute.
It just may get a bigger fandom once the audience gets older....

Mystery Solved
I saw a little button,
It was lying on the floor,
I wondered who had lost it
 And looked around for more.
 It hadn’t come from Donna
Or from Stuart’s nice new shirt,
 And it wasn’t Kelly’s button
That was lying in the dirt.
I couldn’t find who lost it
 I had a worried frown.
But now I know the answer,
 My trousers just fell down....

Pure possibility plays
Among the shorter shelves.
Here can be quickly glanced,
Quite easily, per chance:

Glittering, spinning castles,
With multi-colored shrubs;
Space-suited clowns,
Juggling throwing stars;
A grinning seahorse bobbing
Weightless in thin air;
Alleys winding dark and light,
With neon-green monsters;
Kindly white-haired grandpas,
Speaking distant dialects....

Premium Member Preschool Teachers Know What to Say
"please sit on your sitzfleisches,"the 4th grade teacher said
Preschoolers do not understood German, so they continued to stand
"Sit on your hindquarters!" This was stated a bit louder.
The kids stared at her, still not understanding.
"Your haunches, your petootsies, your derrieres!"
They looked totally consternated now.
A preschool teacher walked in.
"Sit on your pockets," she said.
They all sat....

My cute little puppy,
let us go riding in my doll buggy,
let us go riding in my doll buggy.

My cute little puppy,
I am so very lucky,
I am so very lucky,

We can go out and play,
it is a beautiful day,
it is a beautiful day.

We can go out and play,
pretty blue skies no gray,
pretty blue skies no gray.

My little cute puppy is here to stay,
that makes me happy~hooray,
hooray~hooray....

Her Show
She doesn't dance like Anna Pavlova
She doesn't sing like Diana Ross
but on this blissful day I am watching
the best performer I've ever come across

She wobbled on her pique turns
She forgot to point her toes
but she never lost her smile
a perfect angel until the close

She might not sing in perfect rhythm
She might not always be in tune
but her singing is so beautiful
it makes this proud daddy swoon...

Premium Member Age Four Comes Easily
I see age four
Standing in the long school hallway
By his lonesome

Exasperated preschool teacher three doors up, watching.
I know her hands are full with another four-year-old
Who is also a run away.

I introduce myself.
Ask who he is. He mumbles something I cannot hear.
His name badge tells me his name.

I ask where he is going. He says “My mama’s house.”
He takes my hand and walks with me.
Easy peasy....
