walk through roads 
with many potholes,
trying no to fall down,
without closing their eyes.

Always walking slow,
hiding themselves,
scared of being released,
pretending not to exist.

Short legged lies,
don't reach further
when the road 
becomes harder.

Finally, short legged lies,
put the hoof 
into a big pothole
named: "the truth"...

but they tend to grow in number.
Time and again jarring the heart... but we move on.
Losing a few pieces of soul but we must roll along.
Then we taste a patch of smoothness
the heart is seduced and soothed.
Until the potholes turn vicious and break us..

and who or what did I meet?
Deep potholes, like drunk hobos,
recklessly crossing the street!


But nastier than potholes,

It leaped and stood bolt upright
and slammed hard against my face !!...
