Centralia

There is a postman from Centralia
Who I'm certain will never fail ya
If it rains cats and dogs
He'll swim with the frogs
Just to call on your trailer

Corona Iris Lockdown

The milkman quite quickly departed
As soon as the postman got started
His slippery mouth
Was heading down south
When she crossed her ankles and farted

Day Dreams

The wife saw it all in a dream
The milkman delivered fresh cream
The postman came first
(She thought he would burst)
The newsboy fit her colour scheme

Window Pain

Teen daydreamer Betty May Seymour
Left her clothing all over the floor
The postman peeped in
Committing a sin
Whilst her neighbours all shouted, "Encore"

January Bites

postman on his route
ice forms on his wet mustache…
    he longs for summer

she braves the harsh winds
to fish in January…
     her catch needs no ice

Ice Kiss

ICE KISS

Blizzard dawn crisp
Send shivers with the postman
Shovel toss snow
Dance whiteness over shoulders wrapped in wool
Sweet overburdened shoulders where comfort found me scant moments past

Like Post

Like a postman, I carry information
Like a sender ,I put together information
Like an envelope, I protect information
Like a postal stamp, the faster the information
Like the receiver , I receive information

Walk Backwards

Walk Backwards

There once was a young Postman from Baltimore,
Frequently walked backwards, from door to door.
He knew that his actions were strange to be seen,
But he required to know, where he’d just been.

Last Post

Here lies our faithful postman, Sid
Who put his stamp on all he did.
A first-class fellow,quite the best,
Delivered to his final rest.

Soap Suds

OMO in the windows
On Coronation Street
Clued the milkman and the postman
Would be welcomed with a treat

Those days are long forgotten
Because the Tide has changed
The Milkman's gone forever
And our postman is deranged

His Ailment

My next-door man was a postman
He stunted gimmicks like Tarzan
I met a constable
And told him my trouble
He said, “I can’t treat your ailment”.

The Postman

The Postman

The postman comes once a day
     Leaving rubbish on the floor
All piled up by the door.
Then the dustman comes down the lane
And takes it all away again!

Other Options

I wrote this card so tenderly,
To show how much I care
The postman has just returned it,
Saying you no longer live there.

This news has upset me.
I don't know what to do,
I think I'll find my address book
And send this card to Sue.

Refusal

Refusal

Stood on top my desk
rope over a beam
postman knocked three times
there is hope
a letter
a publisher has sent me a letter
I open it and laughed
it is another rejection
something about my spelling
lack of punctuation and commas
the publisher
used to be a teacher

The Mailman Came Today

The Postman did deliver,
More than mail,
He delivered happiness,
And love, without fail,

I smile in racy, lacy thought,
Perhaps more,
Than I properly ought,

But what the hell,
They say,
You live but once
And, while I'm not sure
that's true,
This life I dedicate,
Just to you.

Everyday Is a Good Day.....

Atheletic play has found it's way,
as a child fills his everyday...

Activities form structured nuances,
laughter now feels vibrant resonance....

The postman delivers whatever the weather,
just like children when playing together....

Everyday is a good day...some are just better.....

What Is In Santa Sack

The corpulent postman from local town,
looked perfect wearing his red Santa gown,
but when he shouted loudly ho ho ho!
his belt snapped, and pants dropped low to his toe!

Happenings

The postman blinked
The man winked
The pan burned
The girl learned

The bell rang
The boy sang
The leaf fell
Will the merchant sell?

The pipe banged
The chimes clanged
The woman shopped
The cook chopped

The bird chirped
A senior sang in church
The baker whisked
The file was on the disk

Don'T Bite the Postman

Don't bite the Postman

Please don't bite the Postman,
With those yellowing canine teeth.
He only wants to deliver our mail,
Not feel your sharp nip beneath.

We've known him now, all these years,
So, shower with kisses and smother,
He only wants to deliver the mail,
Please don't bite him Mother.

Returned Valentine

haibun

her heart's overwhelmed
as her Valentine returns
from Afghanistan

In cahoots with the local mailman, Airman Louis Patrillos hides out-of-sight as the postman returns the special valentine his wife had sent him. Then quickly Lou appears, announcing, "Honey, I'm Home!" just as she bursts into tears.

Birthday

Today is my Birthday
 I am feeling very special!

I sit on the steps
Until he turns up at the gate

There he comes the postman with my present!
Now its time to tear it open
To see what's inside?
From my dear auntie Lily

Back inside Mum has the cake ready
Waiting on me

Happy Birthday to my little Dianna!

Visionary

I have nothing I used to have.
I have everything I've always had.
"Make the most use of your time here," said the Postman.
As I got to the door he grasped my shoulder and said,
"Don't worry, you're still in the grace period."
He slipped me my parking stub.
I thought he said the "grass period."
I sat in the yard for 4 hours.

Snoozeville

Diddle, diddle, dumpling, Rex, the dog,
Sleeping soundly in unconscious fog -
You can read about it on my cat blog -
Diddle, diddle, dumpling, that dumb dog.

Hey, doodle-deedle, so it began -
The postman and me - the cat! - hatched a plan -
Ambien added to a dog food can -
Ol' Rex is headed for Snoozeville, man.
