Singing pollen songs
Lips anointed with honey
Priestess of Delphi
Filling her pollen basket
Propolis giving comb love
The petals open perfumed
the stamens offer pollen
fruit grows to full round ripeness
petals dry fruit falls

Flys heavy to rose
buzzing dopey bumblebee
with its pollen toes

Busy bees work hard
To gather garden pollen.
I enter to forage
There are vegetables to pick
They attack mercilessly--stung!
Pollen count is king this week
My eyes are red and they leak
Coughing and sneezing everywhere
King pollen count is never fair

yellow dust attack~
ACHOO! My nose declares war
spring's harsh confetti
Desiring gardenia's scent
Planting two, praying for blooms
In the quiet, surrounded
By pollen, ahchoo
pollen grains discharged
air thick with fertiliser
anticipation

In summer, sun-flowers wave,
welcoming buzzing bugs
humming among petals,
around pollen yellow as gold
dappled in puddles of light.
Fat bumblebees work
on pink hydrangea blossom.
Pollen-stuffed britches.
Days grow shorter, blossoms fade.
Honey enough for the winter?
Their dangling stamens
Produced lots of pollen
To be carried by the wind
Pollen blown into the buds fertile zone
Creating seeds for another chance to dance
yellow litter across my window
yellow haze for vision's gaze
Fuscia bells tinkle with pollen for busy bees to attain
Making sure next summer the bells will ring again

Picturesque garden
card ritual heralds dream
matchmaker pollen
fruit and berry broadleaf clad
amidst amorous awning

Pollen in the air,
Soaks up into the dried land;
Desert in the Spring.

For Carol Brown's Springtime contest.
Pollen permeates your nose and lung
All you can smell is farmers' dung
The gnats and flies
Flock to your eyes
As wasps and bees swarm 'till your stung!
The reason the old man was sneezin'
Was not just the pollen of season.
He wrote with a quill,
O, yes, he did still,
Which ever his nostrils was teasin'.
golden sun rises
revealing spring blossoms wake
yellow pollen falls
upon nests of birds in love
vows of lasting affections
feeding on pollen and nectar
sweeping it in with brush tipped tongue
rainbow lorikeet is an excellent talker
I teach him to say king daddy
so I can keep him
rumble bumblebee in flight
little ball of dynamite
winged pollen hoarder
with your sweet nectar
honey soothes my appetite
AP: Honorable Mention 2020
His new job required peppiness
and to be conscientious
with calculator in hand
running all over the land
counting pollen which was quite tedious
6-16-18
beyond golden sun
life continues eternal
I'll soon wait for you
here now when pollen slows down
swift creek awaits spring lovers
red cardinal walks
rim of pollen coated bath....
considers options
bumble bee buzzes~ distracts
cardinal drinks~ bathes fast~ flies
sighing of pines
brisk rustling of oak leaves....
easterly chilling breeze
cold front has caused stir
pollen flies freely sans rain
soft sun shimmering
spring gust chasing rusty dust,
pollen to swirl, twirl.
