in this dark mansion
phantoms of fear are vanquished
by the flames of faith
date-3/9/2019
Damp shiver,
under wanton fog,
lone self plight,
as shrill cry,
swallowed by eerie phantoms,
of snow gust night’scape
Drama against the footlight’s glare
Phantoms crouch,
Looming shadows,
Revolving props,
The stage disappears with the play.
The night light still burns
Candles flicker in darkness
Children sleep content
Phantoms run into the night
Light chases devils from sight
Cheryl forgot to close the chest
When she disturbed a hornets’ nest
Remorse there is none
What’s Dunn is now done
Phantoms and ghouls she’ll put to rest.
Taunting phantoms butcher his coloured back,
Rivers of blood flow down the cruel chains;
Cries resound through the ruthless ship,
Waking Death from his peaceful slumber.
Opera phantoms, quasimodo,
gila monsters, and komodo,
Dr. Jekyl, Mr. Hyde
are my pals, I must confide.
John Merrick and Frankenstein -
these are true friends of mine.

Black-painted phantoms
Frightened of lanterns
Shaped shapelessly
Adventure aimlessly
Opaqueness overpowers
Transparency disempowers
Mouth of the night
Consumes them downright...
a goddess has bewitched me
a goddess I have fallen in love with
oh Amy together
we are the center of all
all creaters bow before us
all phantoms of fear fade
as love grows
it seems fate has willed it so
Form:
I can't function.
Can't think.
Can barely breathe.
I'm so tired, but sleep is gone.
It comes, and I am haunted by phantoms and specters.
Useless
Unimportant
Guilty
Blameful
Sinful
Small
Restless.
Times have changed
The enemy has no name
Shifting shadows, searching
For someone, something, anything
How will I know
Before its too late and I'm stopped
Dropped, slate wiped clean by my own blood
Phantoms haunt our unseeing eyes
Shadows left to spite and hide
Echos of wrong...
Regrets held strong
Prayers of peace left unheard
Darkness ends but from a word
Keys we hold to unlock our pain
To forgive the Self is best and gain.

These memories are just phantoms
the dust of demons long since destroyed
why does the mind always betray
maybe this what it means to be human
they are the ashes of ancient ruins
from a long forgotten war
whose only spectator was me
re-post inspired by MRose contest
Paths of pathos, phantoms of the mind
meditations of consciousness in a sense
of the unreal.Places times and space
haunt and become perturbing enigmas
in spatial dimensions of an unforseen
waking reality
Scrolling
Endlessly
They look more like witches than saints
Smiles cruel and angelic
I'm allergic to their bared teeth
There are more phantoms than people
And we're all celebrating the ghosts
Hands together
A technological seance
flying in the air
like fairies ghosts and phantoms ---
tales of autumn
celestial physiques
symbols of sun moon and stars ---
snowy vibrations
fluxy flow of life
birth and afterbirth aligned ---
cotton umbrella?

foggy
feather fringes flow
from fine fancy foliages ---
flamboyant foxes
soft, silky, shiny
solemn savory serene ---
saintly sacred scene
shrubs stand so senile
does sun hide his face in fear?
parade of phantoms

Phantoms eerie,
burned and blackened
arms upraised in supplication
bent and broken, beckoning.
Driftwood garbed they testify
in shrouded mist, in foggy sky
Woodland graveyard, petrified
Silent screams
assault the senses
“Who says fire cleanses”
Phantoms lurk in
The hallways of
My weak and
Tortured mind
Their shadows loom
Both night and day
No place
For me to hide
A wrong not mended
Eats away
A cancer unto
My soul
Redemption is lost
Hope that’s gone
For death has
Close the door
we stare
at mirrors never
see
ourselves reflected in
the glass
we
smile all day at phantoms
never
know that shadows
pass
over our souls
we see
but do not realize
that we are just
mirages
faint
reflections gleaming
from
a piece of painted glass...
See them gliding down the street
Like phantoms in the twilight
Chilling wind and rustling sheets
As pumpkins grin by firelight
Giggling ghouls in search of sweets
Red-faced devils and witches so green
Big black cats shout “Trick or treat!”
Magic words on Halloween.
Visions
only in the dark
a stick
guides me down cobbled stone streets
fear once gripped me, now runs
coffee with phantoms
dead and blind make good friends
pretty lies
pretty dark
in darkness I hide
pretty skies
wine falls
wayside
broken glasses
