Heart Disease

Phantoms lurk in
The hallways of
My weak and
Tortured mind

Their shadows loom
Both night and day
No place
For me to hide

A wrong not mended
Eats away
A cancer unto
My soul

Redemption is lost
Hope that’s gone
For death has
Close the door

How sad it is that death prevents you from making amends, Terry. This is a very heartfelt, sad write. I like to think souls are filled with forgiveness once they pass over. Excellent write! Love, Carolyn
