Can he catch fish

A pelican, tellican
where the fish all are,
A pelican, catchican
fishes near and far.
With a giant scoopican
dive upon the pond,
With his huge beakican
store them for later on.
Behind a fence no public view
First built in eighteen-fifty-two
Destroyed by quake, rebuilt anew
Keeps ship from crashing on it’s rocks
Named for island’s bird, not a few
Spanish word, Pelican, of flocks
lonesome nightingale
serenades the airwaves
searching for his soul mate
lone pelican gliding
against the evening sky
so effortlessly
blown in with the wind
hummingbird nuzzles a bloom
and is blown away again
How is the water? Asked the cute little one in the hat.
The pelican did not know what to answer to that.
It was full of fish, and tasty, but was it hot or cold?

A pelican sits
atop a pierpost dozing
ships moor for the night
Sun
Peering
O’er the sea.
Prismatic waves
Reflect painted sky.
Colorful ripples dance,
Pelican silhouettes glow
With halos of pink, orange, gold.
As the orb climbs higher in the sky,
Bright light casts its gleam as stars and moon fade
young pelican lands awkwardly
breaks a leg while being filmed

The giant sea turtle saved the day by being the ride for many.
He rescued a pelican, a cat, a penguin and a dog named Penny.
Their ship went down, and they were at the mercy of the waves.
If not for turtle, they would all be in watery graves.
Tom wanted to make a hornet a pelican
And so I wondered just how in the helican!
I forgot that in this town he's "The Man"
So whatever he wants no one can ban
And all have to go along with his plan
Even though it should be tossed in the can!

when I was young
I went to sea
I met a pelican
she needled me
when I was brave
I went to field
I saw my shadow
she turned to me
When I was lost
I journeyed within
I found a love
she sang with me
when I was tired
I sat me down
I left this house
she carried me
Happy pelican
eating an enormous fish
see his pouch bulging
Merry kingfisher
waiting on his pole for fish
he darts and spears one
Full of joy and fun
the skylark warbles in glee
delight in each note
Fearsome eagle drops
plummeting down like a stone
striking hard he kills
They came and arrested me.
Crime of passion they say.
Now, I'm doin' life at Pelican Bay,
never gonna see another free day.
She cheated and lied
then she died, while sayin'
she never loved me.
I'll live with the pain of the crime,
every minute of my time,
at Pelican Bay.
