Reasoning

Why people pay to skate
Seems quite insane to me;
They pay to slip and fall,
When pavements are for free.

Sunday morning

Sunday Morning

silent rain fell at night
damp road
brown puddles
on pavements
mist hides tree tops
a miracle
sun breaks through
the last gasp

Tall Men Overshadow Small Men Who Overshadow Smaller Men Who Are Overshadowed By Tall Men

tall men overshadow the small men
in great sadness we all fall down
joy abounds from the inside of hearts and souls
tears fall like stars
onto the cracked pavements of old

Happy and Sad

Rain
Dark clouds
Ink black sky
Stormy weather
A rainstorm always makes me feel happy

Hate the glare reflected on wet pavements
When the rain stops
Hurts my eyes
Makes me
Frown

Days To Remember

Red leaves on pavements drop
Poppy petals from a tree;
Lives remembered once a year!
Forfeits for thee and me.

Spring blossom on pavements drop--
White petal from a tree;
A death recalled just once a year!
In place of me and thee.

Rosy Day Running

Exhilaration!
Feet pounding windswept pavements
people thrilled to run.
Red butterflies in tandem-
Invigorated heartbeats.

Day to satin night
on every viable route
energetic youth!
Pretty, fleeting scenery
like rosy days going by.

Echoes...

A night heron rises unto the dark sky
Wild geraniums overwhelm my senses
Rush fire into and through my veins...

Heart beats are set aflutter
By the toe beats of your clogs
As your clogs echo over
The pavements in dark recesses of my memories

Jagged Framework

Within a fecundity of fatuity
Squandered were all endeavors
Fazed I eluded
Unequivocal passion was sought
Yet still squandered were all endeavors
Candid without knowledge
Lacerated and forsaken
Forlorn I languished
Betwixt the vacuous cracks
Of black and white pavements

Asbo

The beer cans are almost esoteric
Banging down the trash shaft

As boots slide over dog`s pavements;
Tunnels clatter with horseshoes

And piss, an estate with no state;
A simian face against a growler;

I`m sorry for the sorry, skins,
But my stomach turns with Angst.

The Unequal Distribution of Sunset

The spires take a patchwork of blonds,
The pavements, a not-so-shiny copper,
To the harbour go a few drops of bronze,
Even clouds get but a listless amber,

Though when long day is growing old,
The sun, parting, never forgets to rain
On you, on no other, a splurge of gold.

Its Raining...

Its Raining…

God’s Cleansing Tool
Cloud-Concerto… How Cool !
Plop-Plop Plopping into Pothole Pools
On the Grass, Pavements and On My Own-Sweet- Fools…

who, don’t have Sense enough, to get out of the Rain…
… I think I’ll go Join Them… Again

                               Amen

Winter

Winter brought
Rain and snow
Frost and fog
Slippy pavements
And icy water
A cold hand
For the labourer
And windy squalls
To shake trees
Lightning and torrents
Falling from the sky
And also a time of peaceful rest
In nature's closed eye.

The See-Saw

Life can be so much like a see-saw
one minute it’s down, then it’s up
then so still
empty

some people sit at the high end
looking at the world from the top

others so weighed down
wish for the other end
Dreaming, feet always
on the ground, pounding pavements
where it’s always
so real
so concrete, cemented
too real

Karlovy Vary

Karlovy Vary
(Czech Republic)

The thoughts of the town

sing their songs.

Under the colonnades

light of the past

is breaking forth.

Cobbled pavements

-clear–

blend with

the presence.

Over old roofs

lingers musik

from Dvorak Park,

with tiny steps

a new time

is moving on.

Smart Phone

To remove all obstacles
Street and traffic lights
And urban trees from
Pavements of busy feet,
When the human race
Have eyes only for you.
Or one could argue
When mind and savvy
In overdrive
Without direction,
A foolish reaction
When falling over
The out stretched leg
Of the homeless.

September mood

September evening.

late September, the eve
is hot and windless
to warm for walking
as darkness descends
dust on pavements and
fallen leaves bear witness
to nature's tiredness
the local shop saves light
ashen faces
optimistic summer tan
does not last long
a folded plastic bag
four bottles of beer, please
and crisp

Cold Outside

The crisp blue sky, clouds as white as snow.
The leafs no more, a little red robin perched on a branch.

It's cold outside
I freeze
I freeze
it's cold outside bring me into the warm.

Icy pavements, frosted cars
the sunshine threw is it deceiving me?

It's cold outside
I freeze
I freeze
it's cold outside bring me into the warm.

Glances

That face
In the sea of humanity,
Like the poppy
In a bed of pansies
Strikes out
With its red
And the stigma
Protrudes black.

The bobcut of her hair,
Neat and clean
As they come;
Quarrelling with the ears
At each nod or turn.
Those eyes throwing glances,
On the pavements she stands;
Waiting for the bus.

And then
She rides away.

Love On a Wire

In the evenings
I still wait for you on the right side of the bed

Like as single bird
Perched high on a telephone wire

Stark, Scowls of feathers
Ruffled against a charcoal and disappointed sky

I carved a groove
In the way sounds pulse in wet traffic
Vibrating winter pavements

Yet even in my restless heart
I am something close to warm

Old Tortoise the Wise One

1
a long time ago
mother earth was beauty aglow
near our niger’s banks as top trees
were plain jungle pavements
for jumping squirrels & monkeys
on a long quest for merriments –

yea! at such a time
at the beginning of all time
lived an old graceful tortoise
amdst many a dinta, the hunter –
& slow to speak like the wise
nwaoporocha was his father;

Eternity On the Pavement

Eternity as his message lingers on
A message for the ages now and gone
The words scrawled out on the pavement
To be wondered or savoured as heaven sent

Does it teach us the pace of the world
And what we think or as our faith now held
And Arthur Stace provided Eternity for us
As he chalked out the word on Sydney’s pavements for him enough.

A Selfish Ride, Detoured

SELFISH AS CAN BE
THE WAYS OF WHAT
THE HIGHWAY RUNS DIFFERENT WAYS
UNKNOWN PAVES
MANY LANES TO FOLLOW
DRIVING ALONG THE ROADS
THE PATHS SEEMS WRONG
THE LOAD CARRY IT'S OWN
SELFISH AS CAN BE
DETOURED, ANOTHER ROAD
COMING THROUGH
GOT AWAY FROM YOU
SIGNS TO FOLLOW
STOP, YIELD, SLOW DOWN
MAKE IT TO TOWN
ROAD CLOSED
HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGES
SLIPPERY PAVEMENTS
SELFISHNESS ENDED.
