Old Tortoise the Wise One

a long time ago
mother earth was beauty aglow
near our niger’s banks as top trees
were plain jungle pavements
for jumping squirrels & monkeys
on a long quest for merriments –

yea! at such a time
at the beginning of all time
lived an old graceful tortoise
amdst many a dinta, the hunter –
& slow to speak like the wise
nwaoporocha was his father;
