Lady of Grace
Each day I awake
Safe in your embrace
Spellbound again
By your beautiful face
Where I see my dreams traced
In a magical place
North America –
My motherland

Angels Falling Out of the Trees
Out of maple trees comes the samara.
Like a little angel, the seed takes wing.
On summer days in North America,
carried by the wind is this little thing.
Ever so gently, it is gyrating.
I watch each achene spiral to the ground.
In great numbers these wonders can be found.

recognizing shapes in the clouds
souls are floating in heaven
clouds showed me a peek of them
a window to heaven
I see Jesus from the back
He glides upwards to meet them
there is another cloud that resembles north America
Does He know I am watching?
Do the clouds realize I recognize their shapes?
I watch, until the portal closes...

Thyacine
Tasmanian tiger
Tasmanian wolf
carnivorous marsupial
kept young in pouch
native to Australia, Tasmania, New Guinea
Thyacine is to Australia
What Sasquatch is to North America
Been sighted but not recently penned or captured
Sasquatch might be a myth
Thyacine only went extinct eighty-seven years ago

The Simple Square
The square has four equal sides. Whether it is
in North America., South America, Africa, Asia,
Europe, Antarctica and Australia it remains
the same. From the highest mountain, deepest
Undersea lake to the most luxurious valley it measures
the same. No matter the holder, or the way it
is turned by life's challenges. global integrity
is it's namesake....

Paradise Lost
I was listening to the news the other day regarding the economy and job loss that has
been happening in North America and for some inexplicable reason the picture that Raul
posted for his contest popped into my mind. So, here is my entry for Raul Moreno’s Solace in
Nature Contest.
Recession rainbow
Human foibles forgotten
Nothing else exists....

Undressing
At pasture's edge
the last Tansy*
sheds it's blossoms
Common tansy is also known as golden buttons and garden tansy. Common tansy was introduced from Europe into colonial North America in the 1600s as an ornamental plant and for medicinal uses. Ironically, common tansy contains alkaloids that are toxic to humans and livestock if consumed in large quantities. ~ravallirepublic.com...

Limerick: Once a Mincing Mrs From Mississippi
Limerick: Once a mincing Mrs. from Mississippi
Once a mincing Mrs. from Mississippi*
Went to a bank for a fiddle-d-dee
But her girdle got stuck
And the “SS” came unstuck
That’s why Missis ends as a double P..
*No aspersions cast on Mississippians here;
the term refers to the Paleozoic era in North America,
following the Devonian and preceding the Pennsylvanian,
of course.

This Lady and Me
A few month ago this lady and me
Became very good friends on the site
There is no need to name names
This gal knows of whom I speak
Could give you her initials
But that'd be a dead give away
Here's a hint she's from a land down under
Far away from North America
A lady who's very prolific I would say
We write in a similar style
Relaxing and sleeping during rain storms
A whole lot of super good times...

Hopes For The Election
As a mostly quiet American,
I have hopes for the election.
That no matter who wins,
there will be acceptance from
the other side.
Other people and I,
don't want post-election violence,
filling our country's streets.
We don't desire relatives, friends
bitter at their Thanksgiving tables.
I pray as I pen this writing,
that peace descends upon the nation,
so we as the U.S. can go into the
festive time of year with shalom u'vrakha. ~...

Pink Moon
pink moon in April
bright gold rises at sunset....
pink moss phlox
It is actually a super moon(a full moon) because it is closer to the earth making it appear larger and brighter.
It is named pink moon(it is not pink) because a plant named phlox subulata(pink moss) is blooming at this time of year. It is a plant native to eastern North America.
I made a special effort to see it last night and it was beautiful....

A Hilarous Snow Fight
Across
North America
temperatures plunge
dramatically;
then steady snow
takes over to transform this quite village
into an alpine scenery;
quickly stepping out of the slamming door:
I call out to Erica,
but she's having a hilarious snow fight
with Jack and Paul!
I hesitate to slip on my boots,
then rush out with a playful mood:
to be hit in the face
at close range,
but rapidly
and precisely
I toss!

Thus, the Bird Spoke
When the bird took a rest
To put down his wing
On the soil
He already ended his life
Through thirty thousand years
The most part of his wing
Returned to the land
But the bone was left
Which is bathed
In ephemeral sunlight of
North America
The discovery of the bones
Immediately ran around the world
Famous and non-famous pianists
Offered their compositions
As his requiem
Listening to them
He made a vow:
Be born again, and play
Those beautiful compositions
By himself...

Bibbity Bobbity
Bibbity Bobbity
Christopher Columbus
headed east, but instead
went west they said.
His nautical goal was
circumnavigation,
but North America
stomped that dream dead.
Hickory Dickory
Marion Morrison
crafted a cowboy name
to fan his flame.
His new handle, John Wayne
instantaneously
launched him as a star of
western film fame.
