pink moon in April bright gold rises at sunset.... pink moss phlox It is actually a super moon(a full moon) because it is closer to the earth making it appear larger and brighter. It is named pink moon(it is not pink) because a plant named phlox subulata(pink moss) is blooming at this time of year. It is a plant native to eastern North America. I made a special effort to see it last night and it was beautiful.

Andrea, I don't know if it could be seen all over the US or the world. I only know what they said on the news about our area and I tried to see it. Thanks for your visit. Sara ..There will be another one on May 26, 2021 at 7:14 A.M. in my area and is called a flower moon.
