2 Morbidly Refreshing Monokus

(1)..at least we've got our minds off our masks-how morbidly refreshing

(2)..strangely the riots and looting have taken my mind off my bat mask

Written in the Wrong Key

I've written Sonnets in C Major key ~ funeral music to me

No notes on bars in flats or sharps ~ fingered morbidly sour on stringed harps

Seasick

There was a professor morbidly obese
A condition he was anxious to breach.
His students tried to help
By giving him kippered kelp.
Now he’s too sick to be able to teach.

Want To See

Morbidly curious?
Not really.
Want to see?
No.

But it is a black curtain.
It might be the Wizard of Oz
or a plain man
pretending to be one.

I yawn.
Uninterested
Walk away.
He follows me.

Why do you not want to see?
I have no idea
I just don’t

Tv Is Boss

TV pushes me into a recliner
Droning and dribbling in monotones
Stressing me at a subconscious level

I remain morbidly unaware
Eating potato chips with dip
Not understanding the damage

TV increases her volume
Sixteenth commercial
Amazingly I pay no attention

The Happy Addict

Gave Shark catnip and he turned into a hippie
Took me straight back to the seventies
Put on his fur vest and fringed headband
Made the peace sign with his paws
Became morbidly mellow
Docile, chilled, rolled onto his back
Soaked up the sun with his tongue hanging out
A happy addict

So not funny

No so funny, man,
Feeding me spam,
Morbidly yours, all right,
More verbs, how blight,
Don't waste your words,
You're beyond absurd,
Negative chaff and chatter,
Really does not matter,
Get over yourself,
Get off that shelf,
Go get a life,
Signed, your only wife!
No one believes your spam,
Morbidly yours, now scram!

Morbidly Romantic

then give me your heart-
i'll keep it safe,
i have one empty glass bowl
or tupperware if you prefer,
like my soul i'll feed it
indecision & spite,
& pain, whatever else this world might,
i'll try in vain to supress
happiness & hope
& shame, then i'll scream at god's
undoing of all my work
when there's no one else
to blame.

No Ode For a Dead One

To all those who lost loved ones
I should have listened
Should have warned you
I wish you back but you don't come
I wish you had listened
Perhaps you did, perhaps you do
Oh how then?
But they thought you
Thought you were matrixical
Invincible
Oh yes
Why is it?
Now
Reality sets in
So morbidly
Flowers in the hole
Are buried
On top of that box
That box.

Mind Our P's and Q's

The sane file singularly, wait impatiently to enter
the sanctuary of sanatoriums.
Crazy has a mission, it rushes, it presses
with a pitiless paranoia,
it packs suitcases moves into unguarded minds.
For we cannot spell it out, dare not decry;
for the mad remain morbidly mean,
they are building places
to keep us far, far away
from what we could and now should say.

Knights of Columbus

heavy feet burdened loose temper
engraved silver tongues borrowed

laughter portraying fascist beliefs
fascist energy exploding over white

sheets, malice moves throughout
the narrow streets of poor folks tears

sin bathing in the sweat of the brave
while funding self serves are we really

forgiven if this cause pain morbidly
challenged an yet so unchanged

The Double Agent

Truth seeker,
hunting the hunter
or the huntress
eccentric poets
bizarre motives,
but interesting
and fascinating.
Unwrap that string
so tangled in knots,
future teller of
which it brings,
a day seller
a night calmly sings.....
Pretentiously
and weirdly
My poetry
brings fools
to their knees,
Am, I cool?
A fascination,
morbidly
and curiously?
I am the double agent
Don't mess with me

Life Is Almost Over

Life is Almost Over

It's time for a new context of living,
To realize each day could be our last.
To create a new context of giving.
Stop lhaunting the forests of the past.

No sadness nor morbidly in this, it's a
Wake up call of to life.
Time for us to come out and play full out,
Making each moment, in true glory count.

No staring in the mirror to delay.
Tomorrow is truly your day.

Iraq

you enter into my innermost calmness
chafed naught a crawling grapevine
and speared mustered seeds I'd beckoned
your tenderness your infamous timely
sorted kisses morbidly missed over time
driving over gravel searching for hidden
scents of blushing rosebuds that catered
to my senses why I'd explored your shyness
that emptied my kindness beyond a darkened
cave a sinking floor causing me to blush
beneath the mauve sky hidden
along Baghdad's humble shoreline

Revenant

Dank darkness was always settled around. It was all I knew of the near universe. Stale, stifling, suffocating in my broken and spilt trundle leaving bitter, morbidly clammy earth enshrouding my body and being. A crack in the soil, or in time perhaps. Slivers of light split the filthy floor, crawled over ornate catafalque, and continued its approach, like winter's blinding ice, to my exposed bones. Warming flesh grew and coursed with new - life blood.
