A Girl Ate a Hat

A girl ate a hat, what a thrill,
Mistaking it for her contraceptive pill.
In her moment of haste,
A hat she did taste,
Now she's throwing up, her tummy's bloated still!

Plead

Thank you for the guilt
you planted in me
for making me worry
for what I never did
for mistaking my intentions
and make me plead
for stealing my confidence
and my peace

My

My

My back is breaking.
My heart is aching.

Everyone thinks I am faking.
BUT I am not mistaking.

My whole world is awaiting.
While I am hesitating.

Nothing to be debating.

Premium Member When You Give To Another

When you give to another
  you take the greater reward
Give whatever you can
as much as you can afford

  On that, there's no mistaking

Undetected

A COLD AND NUMBING WIND

BLEW ALONG MY SPINE

A HOARD OF IMPRESSIONS

FLOODED MY MIND

THERE WAS NO MISTAKING

THE SENSATION

I SAW CLEARLY IT WAS A THING

OF INDESCRIBABLE CREATION

SO……

I RESISTED DISCOVERY SUCCESSFULLY!

No One's Favorite

LOW MAINTENANCE
ABSENT MINDED
NO PATIENCE
COMPLEX AND BASIC
DON'T SEE ME
UNLESS YOU NEED ME
I CAN TAKE IT
THEY HURT YOU
THEY FIGHT ME
THERE'S NO MISTAKING
I NEED YOU TO LOVE ME
I'VE BEEN FORSAKEN
YOUR SECRETS
MY SOUL
CALL ME CRAZY

He who gives to another
       takes the greater reward

Magical Glasses looking within these lenses
That glares through these hidden shadows.

Scenarios of traps, mistaking fantasy, illusion
Selfishness eluded by compulsion yet gracefulness
and mercifulnedd intervene these cloudiness of
these Magical Glasses.

Reality

One day I got scared, having grabbed a snake that was sleeping in the grass, mistaking it for a motley rope. One day I was frightened of a motley rope, which was lying in the grass, thinking it was a snake.

I was wrong both times
unreal things misled me
only fear was real

Premium Member What Is That Mama

What is that mama?
Sun was in mama’s eyes but there was no mistaking the polka dots.
It was a leopard, about thirty foot off the ground slumbering in a tree.
Mama lifted her child off the ground and signaled for silence.
Tiptoeing her away from imminent danger.
Glad they had made an escape.

Statesmen 17

We've learned what our statesmen seek to achieve:
Thinking we'd believe all that we receive.
We perceive each view and trick up their sleeve,
These elegant thieves, who try to deceive.
Mistaking our peeves, they call us naïve;
In lieu of reprieve - our sad hearts must grieve.

Premium Member What's a Parent to Do

   drinking the water…
     … from his bath…
   destroying whatever’s…
     … in his path…

   mistaking the floor
     … for the loo…
   whatever’s a parent
     … to do?!...

With this advice you’ll agree …
what’s more, it is free …
   … tell your terrible two
          …to turn three

Dream Rung

Produce flaw-make it show
I did not know the pinch.
Watch grow-less than absent: six pounds toward water,
mistaking me for the warmth of mothers.
Comfort swims obtuse-long running privilege and fathers.
May June daughters toss back hands with laughter.
If nothing matters I'm the complete backwards of notice to compare.

Wrong Places

I Flew in the Afternoon Skies
Looking for North Star.
I Swam across the Oceans
Mistaking Submarines for Whales.

I Followed a Random Road,
To a Dead End.
I Ran through the Woods,
Looking for an Iceberg.

And Today, I Realised..
I'm Lost, All My Life.
Chasing the Wrong Things at
Wrong Time and Inappropriate Places.

Heart Breaker

i feel your warmth in my heart
i only feel warm when you are close though
right now your no where to be seen
are you near by? or is this something else?
there is no mistaking this feeling
heart breaking, my heart is
i wish you were in my arms
thats how close i want you to be
not just passing by
in my tear stained dreams

Hair

Oh I love the battle of picking out hair,
The grey ones the brown ones, mistaking the fair.
I thought it was charming that first little one, they have turned into bxxxers from that stray
single one.
Now it's all turning as they bush from my bonce.
A blanket of grey is what I would see, if i wasn't plucking and dyeing day after day!!

A Lip-Synced Psalm

He is waiting for someone else
to put the words into his mouth
instead, he would say out loud his own.
And as pretending the singing,
he merges into unpossessed voices
hiding his song in the noise.
I cannot make out his words, though:
I misread his lips - mistaking a pop song for a pray;
a lip-synced psalm,
and believe every word he shares.

Premium Member Seeing Double

Apparently I’m going blind
don’t get the bigger picture
suffering from tunnel vision
or perhaps a one track mind

I’m blaming the concussion
got distracted on the job
Mistaking her for another
led to facial reconstruction

Seemingly with hindsight
things appear so much better
I’m so good looking now
see them both every night.

Something Greater

Sometimes, we must let go of things
Blinded by our own heartache and pain
We think it is only for the worst
Mistaking a true blessing, to be a total curse
Feeling, as though our worlds have been turned upside down
With our hopes and dreams shattered all around
Picking up the pieces, time is slipping by faster than we know
We find, that Something Greater, was lying just up the road

What

The look on her face
Told it all...
She made me know
That it's not 'seresere'
I wasn't joking as well
Then
Two don cut four...

I pouted
I hissed
I was pissed...
Surely boys are not smiling....

The reason was one
Misunderstanding...
Misjudgment...
Mistaking...
Everyone just misinterpreting
Your actions...
It vexes the soul...

But what can a man do?
Patience...

Such is life....
