Diner In the News
By Angeline Vine

The rats were lively
falling from ceiling tiles
running for an open door
some had no tails
and later their photos were
on the news

The patrons were eating
spaghetti and meatballs...

Dinner
Who is not starving
for a big plate of spaghetti
meatballs salad and sauce
red wine, ice water, lemons cheese
sparkling glasses
smiling faces all around
fights and chatter
down the table I see your eyes shining
as you listen to this youngest girl
and her serious story
your long fingers caress her hair
dark heads
together....

Premium Member The Friday Evening Meal
On Friday the evening meal
Would cook all afternoon
Homemade spaghetti sauce
With meatballs made from scratch
In the afternoon mom began

To make her delicious sauce
Cooking slowly on the stove
Meatballs would always be made
By dinner time it was ready
We were eager to enjoy the meal

Served with garlic bread cheese
It was a tasty meal
We all enjoyed the homemade meal...

Premium Member Food For Thought
Steady Eddie was always ready
For meatballs and spaghetti.

Dan the man was a big fan
Of eating eggs with boiled ham.

Bob the slob was on the job
To chew away corn on the cob.

Mitt the git could hardly sit
When served a bowl of shrimp & grits.

Jake the snake, numb as a hake
Just adored potato and steak.

Tricky Ricky who looked all sickly
Finds it all to be quite icky!...

Premium Member Oh, Mothballs
Oh, meaty mothballs!
    as opposed to mothy meatballs
  Alternatively - slobbering sloth-balls!
    instead of sloppy moth-calls

  Stupid refrigerator!
    as opposed to dumb incinerator
  Alternatively - dirty toenail taster!
    instead of wanton whiskey-waster

  It's the start of a brand-new year
    Let's raise glasses and expectations
  And while we're at it
    ~ improve imprecations!...

Passing Gas In the Name of Love
here we are in a spinning glove
passing gas in the name of love
on a lazy day happily doing nothing
exchanging humorous kisses and hilariously strategic touching
it is all the Beautiful Result of God Above
passing gas in the name of love
spaghetti and meatballs and taco salad high
even higher we fly via glazed apple pies
the organic soymilk washes it all down with a gentle shove
So Damn Happy We Are While Passing Gas In The Name Of Love...

Tb
As I awaken, it is half past noon,
that broken alarm clock,
has caused me doom.
Grab the deodorant, smear some on,
that dog waste will be waiting,
when I get back home.
Nothing for lunch, did I bring today,
but that smiling moon face jerk,
handed me a baby food tray.
Nuclear waste in my cup to drink,
while reading the miracle of fatima,
till my eyes turn pink.
A malicious love
brings me, peanut butter and jelly,
with meatballs, her daily special everyday.
Yuk, how awful....

Sensual
Sensual as and so sensual is, When fire ignites, the dead have risse, You can’t keep down the passion earned, Over wrought, with rigid squirm, Heat and steam and vision blurred, Fascinated, and completely stirred Thought is gone, deep wanting heard, For meatballs this is grim, Is he about to swim, Or droopy has returned, Soul lit fire is searing burned, Until the right is sweetly termed, An interface of passion will, Stir solutions so instill, Estacy is very nice Don Johnson

Premium Member I Could If I Wanted To
I was in pain, but I have ignored it
Feeling excited on this fresh new virgin day.
I could use my eyes and draw out a canvas
study a tree, watch butterflies, enjoy that puffy cloud.

I could use my voice
Say hello to a stranger
Make elaborate wolf howls

I could use my nose
Smell the meatballs cooking
Enjoy the whiff of oregano
follow the fragrance of parmesan

or I could sit here
loving the day
enjoying the patio of this Italian restaurant
not caring that I cannot whistle...

Premium Member We Like Hamburger Thank You
Husband and I are common food sappy
Spaghetti and meatballs make us happy
To please us, make us a hamburger dish
Don’t serve us salads or yogurt or fish
Warm potatoes and rich gravy give us a good time
Comfort foods like pie and cake make us feel sublime
Keep your diet tips, your exercises, and your juices to yourself
We like our salts, and our sugars, easy to reach, low on the shelf.
Sure we have gained a bit of weight over the years
But we’re happy and sassy and have very few tears...
