roaming the streets of Russia
no mamas to love
bereft of humanity
a million beating hearts sigh

our mama duck is not like the others
the other mamas glide like sailboats
she drags us around faster than a jet ski
because she is a Gemini daddy says

Act out stories of ancestors and gods
Reciting poetry they gave us nods
Polyrhythmic drumming
Mamas are a humming
African dances will shake up your bods.

Many is the night you held me, to calm my fears.
One person who will not hurt me
Tough when it counts
Helping, healing gentle hands
Ever the cheerleader
Regal beauty and wise

haiku series
yards in bloom
gussied up for Easter
girls in new hats
baby robins
kids spy a nest
mamas squawk
maple seeds twirl
delighting kids and adults
tadpoles morph

Haiku
your love so fragile
made of glass
shatterproff
against my selfish grasp
glass now cut
cut so perfectly
gives me color
with every suns beam
Mama, your edge
is so very sharp
but I reach, protected
by your warrior heart
Love, Kim

Let us play
Every day,
Be the actors of
May,
Play with children
And smile
Like our Mamas,
Try to get
All you need,
Try to act
As we agree,
And to have
Sweet and warm
Golden summers!
We are Papas
Of June,
Wish to see
All you soon!

Suspicious and hyper-vigilant
My power animal, the deer
Tails white, or sometimes black
My favorite animal
Antlers on males,
Graceful, gentle mamas
Fawns delicately spotted,
My wild animal, the deer
Ready to bolt at a twig’s notice

Days pass
clouds turn to dust
dry pulls across the yard and freezes
not autumn not summer
but time inbetween
blown glass fish
bright red glass heart on my dresser
a howling dog
and rocks from Mamas kitchen window
that teacup
all the butter
no one's watching

I do not know?
Sometimes when I was very small
I couldn't make it through the night
I'd dream of things that creep and crawl
and wake up with an awful fright.
Then staring into all that gloom
remembering what my mama said
I'd run down the hall into her room
Cause there's no bad dreams in Mamas bed.

I do not know?
Where did your dreams go,
may I ask you, my child,
do you still have them,
or did you just put them aside.
.
Where did the time go,
may I ask you, my child,
did it slip away,
in your days of being wild.
Where is your future,
may I ask you, my child,
you make the decision,
mamas getting tired.

Little boy little boy come to me ,Daddy's in the living room

mamas in your room making your bed and sissy's in the hall saying I get to go please.

Light Verse
Triple H is howling her fury
Heating up Europe
Helping them to shut down
Having her way
Triple H is smiling and smug
Heating up houses
Helping babies to be miserable
Having to sit on their mamas
Triple H is loving her power
Heating up tempers
Helping people to argue and fight
Having no control over their anger

April day is gorgeous.
I wake up early, head to my art studio.
Surrounded by paints and glitter, I feel wonderful.
Working simultaneously on four canvases, in the best of moods.
Humming to The Mamas and the Papas, seventies music.
My eye catches something running rapidly.
Screech!
Day ruined by one small black field mouse.

Secretive coven twilight, hats in a doogie.

Goblins, ghosts, pumpkin juice boogie.

My mama is bigger than your mama
The baby deer knew it was true,
But she had no inkling of why this would matter
Your mama is perfect for you, mine is perfect for me.
Baby bear smiled, agreeing totally.
They did not have to be the same species to think alike.
Their mamas gave each other a comfortable smile.
Then the deer bounded over the fence into the woods.

I do not know?
trouble at school in the fifties and sixties
meant more trouble at home – big trouble
trouble at school in 2021 means
Big Mama’s coming up to throw her weights around.
Yes, those weights!
She will be mad and mean.
Yell, scream, take out her guns if she must.
Some mamas are more aggressive than others.
Daddies are the same though, staying out of it
Watching the TV, leaving it up to the women.

A mother's love is warm..
usually undeserved but strong..
they can b firm, sweet, kind,nd protective all at once.
They'll have your back no matter d'storm..
theirs can only be compared to the one God has 4 us all..
they're there, through thick and thin, and even when you fall..

Mama
The one who wipes your nose and rinses you off with a hose.
She picks you up and you drop your cup.
You make a mess and she ruined her new dress.
Your toys are left out but she never pouts.
The crying never stops until you suddenly saw rain drops.
Dad comes home to save the day and mom wants to hit the hay.
Your first word was candy because you couldn’t say Andy.
Nothing beats mamas love yet she’s as calm as a dove.

Blank verse
Hunched over Harry had a humpback for sure
He never learned to stand up straight, but his motives were pure
Children ran from him screaming for their mamas.
He felt sad about this, so only made friends with his llamas.
What is wrong with him? Someone asked me one day.
Nothing, I admitted. He is really a nice guy, truly okay.
But he started slouching over when he was in junior high.
No one knows why though; no one knows why.
