Run!
I once knew an old man named Paul
who once with his back to the wall
did leap out with a yell
and what stories did tell
of runners who ran till they crawl.....

Shadow
A shadow in the night
that's what you are to me
a flick of light
with my weak eyes
that's what I see
can you leap out from your hiding place
and show me your face?...

Trump Poor Church Pledger
Trump Poor Church Pledger

Trump heard was a  poor church pledger;
Liked seeing his name leap out on ledger;
A lost cause,
With small paws,
Who forever McCain would never treasure.

Scared to death
As shadows laid where none could go, The dark sky etched fear in a scrawl, Making hearts to leap out of sight, Silhouettes of danger scared all, A cooly breeze whispered the fright, Meanwhile, death crept closer too slow.

The first day of April 2020
and, I’m waiting for someone
anyone
to leap out and shout
“April fool!”
Somehow, though
I already know
that just isn’t going to be
it definitely is April fool’s day, but
for sure this viral pandemic is no joke....

The Fiery Domain
Fiery flames leap out to greet me
 Mocking each step I take
My tears are spilt in vain
 Dried by the heated flame
Ashes now have become my bed
  As darkness enters my eye
Yet amid all this torment I find
 My heart cold
And light becomes
 My only true desire...

Dark Gooey Puddle
Are you feeling befuddled,
or slightly bemuddled?
Does it feel like you’re standing in a dark gooey puddle?
Leap out of that hole,
and fling off your boots!
Climb up that tree,
and gobble down fruits.
I see you there smiling,
perched way up high,
free as a bird,
bright sun in the sky....

My dog, Happy,was a a Wire Haired Fox Terrier.
To Happy, in life, there no was such thing as a barrier!
Twas a lesson for me, I think, looking back,
Let nothing stop me from forging ahead.
Not people, not fear, nor doubts.
Just get off my duff, stop sniveling,
And leap out with joy out of bed.

Brush strokes paint angst:
Ink running out;
Tell on dry banks,
Touting vain shouts;
End game in sight,
Restless woes sling.
Dead to the light,
Ideas miss spring;
Alarm bells scream,
Leap out of dread;
Opt then sour cream,
Glance at the dead;
Urgent our woes,
Etch overflow!

multiple emotions leap out and erupt
from the unconscious mind.Angst in

Heads Up
When driving, we use WAZE, which is
A talking GPS.
It finds the quickest routes and thus
Eliminates some stress.

At times, it issues warnings
Like an "obstacle on road,"
So we'll both be on the lookout
To avoid our being towed.

But it took a while to realize
That an "animal ahead"
Won't leap out to cause some damage;
It's already stone cold dead!...

Heart

The heart is such an organ
It does so much more than God intended
It falls in love
Keeps many secrets
Hides many truths
It may be broken with a single word
It can smile at the sight of a pretty girl
Cry at the sight of a newborn baby
Or leap out of your chest when scared
It can burn after a night of partying
But with all it can do
How could we live without it?...

Unassuming
unassuming
he sits in a corner
out of sight
out of mind
others are called
yet
he remains...

he waits patiently
longs for his name to be called
yet doesn't bug anyone
to ask when
his turn is next

I see him though
from my corner of the room
I see him sketchily through my tracking lens
making sure
nobody will leap out at me

I watch him
mr unassuming man
and realize
he is me....

As I wake I realize today’s a new beginning, a
Day I can start a new word
Voyage into uncharted territories,
Enthusiasm abounds, as I leap out of bed, full of possibilities
Never slowing down, I
Take a peek at the notes I have taken of so many other poets’ works.
Uniquely spectacular words gallop toward me out of the pages.
Really now, isn’t this how
Every word player’s day should start?...

My Heart Aches When I Read Poems
My heart aches when I read poems with word play,
Like mixing all colors in painted clay.
Random images just leap out like sparks
The meaning intended misses the mark.
Some write and label their poems a nonet
While not taking time to see what is it.
Writing's a school for learning till the end
Tossed words are not salads we write and send.
Poets take time to weave their creation
Poems are born, like a child of expression.

Age
Age is just a number we have all said,
But we all keep a lower number in our heads,
Age makes the old want a nap in bed,
While the young want to leap out of bed.

We are told to act our age,
And not take something from the younger ones page,
But to age with dignity and not become enraged,
With difficulties of life as we age.

We must act with grace,
With tribulations we face,
And our true age we must embrace,
Leaving only smiles and kindness for others to trace....

Anti-Irregular Ode To Helios
Mentally choking on paranoid covers,
No matter where I am, everything is next.
The corners leap out— one after another,
Trapping the resolve in its reckoning hex.
Unfolding like slabs of sidewalk before me,
Briskly walking through billows of fret,
A thousand eyes so brash and stormy;
The houses awry with windows in debt.
Turning my head would chisel the cracks;
For taking the time to survey each one
Would only inflame this cerebral tax—
I would gladly favor the night to the sun....

Premium Member Authentic Fake
Watch the paradox
In senseless streak,
Leap out-of-the-box
As de-tox now kicks.

Your ego-self primes
A hollow feel here,
Vain is not a crime
For this empty fear.

You change the story
In perplexing ways,
A touch most dreary
Frames your night and day.

Fake as fake knows when
In the humid heat,
Hot air rises then
In a fading feat.

So authentic fake
In self-styled charade,
A chameleon makes
Your own hit parade!
