The Magic Book

A reader devout -
inquisitively I sit.
Page two. . . stars leap out!
Another page . . . I turn it.
Like magic, butterflies flit.

This work oozes charm and creativity. It is so concise with a superb ending. Yes, Wild And Free is written in the Blitzt form. Thank you, Andrea, for your comments, Howard

Thanks. I don't understand why I didn't get on the winners list with this one I wrote. But that's how things go!

Dear Andrea, There’s a bright, child-hearted wonder in this little tanka, a doorway and the world answers with stars and butterflies. I love how you capture that pure moment, magic we never quite outgrow. I love reading! Winter Blessings, Andrea Daniel

Books are journeys for sure. This is adorable. I still see the world through the eyes of a child (between physical therapy visits anyway) -- all poets do. Prerequisite for poetry. Blessings my friend. Delightful read!

So many good ones for this contest and yours is among them. Nothing has come to me. Yours is the most 'enthusiastic' I've read and the little girl certainly seems enthused.

Thanks. At least it's enthusiastic. I had to totally change it because I had done my end rhymes opposite what she said!
