I Need Space
You overwhelm me
Warm like the sun
But also like gravity.

My last view of you
Kaleidoscopes.
A brilliant new galaxy.

That Sentimental Style
If our high hopes
and a rainbow’s slopes
collide,
wide scopes of kaleidoscopes
raining
bold, forgotten designs
upon old, cotton twines
we’re staining
still bind the gentle mind,
after all this while, to
tie-dye’s sentimental style.

Laze
sunlight pours
through the trees -
I stand to watch
as light kaleidoscopes
through branches,
filtered through leaves

a cloudless sky
mirrors
my unfogged mind

I see -
one of those rare days
where I glide
through life’s medium,
inured to the passing of time...

In My Bed I'M Lost
In my bed,
I'm lost.

eyes to another universe
where kaleidoscopes
collide in hopes
of creating bliss.

my spirits blurred.
my heart drained.

happy
but lost.
sad
and lost.

The Midnight Birds
chirp to the screeching
of my mind losing itself.

And I have lost....

Imaginations
Imaginations

When Darkness falls
With its thick walls

When the air’s quiet
Din taken to flight;

A stir is in my head
I’m ever alert instead

With ideas of rhyme
Eating all my time.

When quiet an’ gloom
Fills my mental room

Kaleidoscopes flash
None away can bash!

Reflections
Reflections on a window
Likened images that mirror the yawning morn

Etched in solitude
Always shifting at the hands of time

Perpetually racing the suns arc

Painting chaotic kaleidoscopes at its zenith
To peeling away layers at dusk

Where upon a silhouette of moon beams
That dances in silence
Along its inflected soul...

"The Ghosts of All Those Lost Tomorrows"

voiceless Munch seen laughing
when all the ghosts of those lost tomorrows
come stampeding into dreams
like a forewarning, carrying the colours
of their ever changing empathy

jokes
seen through
kaleidoscopes

of dead others

Kaleidoscopes
Colourful pebbles strewn...
They all simply washed away
Afore I could turn back
Around everything was gone
Starring across the dark
Emerald waters silent tides
No words needed be spoken
Having lived long enough to
Know that that's just the way
It is taking a deep breath
A sigh not from pain smiling
Nothing, really lost I believe
One step closer; dreams bleed....

Inspiration
Onion skin pages and empty windows
Repel us as much as attract—
Possess brief images locked fast in place—
Memory melded in faded photographs of thought.

We are things we once were—
Frozen kaleidoscopes of dreams
Cupping eyes and pens so tightly,
Casting free flaxseeds of imagination.

Still, sepia leaves seem white-boned
And open windows let in absences....

Just Over There
Open your eyes to the void
Waves of blinding light arise
Wild untold stories unfold
Just over the billionth mile

Beyond the ecliptic hemisphere
North of the heavenly equator
Elliptical orbs stream out of sight
In time life will come to order

Kaleidoscopes turn in on themselves
Focus their attention on unborn stars
Colors were born when God began
Just over there without question...

Butterfly Kiss
All across an area
Of poising purple peonies
She's silently secretly stalking
beautiful butterflies betrothed bright blue
Wishing with wonder what wagers would want
From ferociously fluttering fabulous faces
Casting closely to colored camouflaging kaleidoscopes
Until the usually utterly untrustworthy upon the unfortunate
Lands lightly on lips, laminating labyrinths
extreme exultations explode....

Kaleidoscopes Leaves---

soon the leaves will turn
turn unto burn, brown orange
there’ll be some yellows

be some reds, purples
and also some tans and blacks
all this for reason

withered fold falls test
tis the time changing seasons
soon the leaves will turn

soon the leaves will fall
summer falls turns autumn now

Echoes
Quaint bells of symphony,
swelling over
vast corridors of the mind
filming scenes from remote past
in kaleidoscopes of living colour
strumming..
with virtuosic intensity
on mind's tormented strings
reincarnating
exorcised demons
undressing
raw putrefying wounds
rusty hinges creaking noisily as
grating shovels on ice
skelenton closet swings eerily open
creatures baring hideous teeth
lay siege on my sanity
and haunt my sleep....

Free With Purpose
free with purpose
by Michelle Morris
13/08/2021

the rain came down
cleared the road of debris
minds unmasked
secrets stripped clean

hidden compartments
labyrinths in time
chosen with emotion
no reason or rhyme

the sun came up
sparking raindrops and rainbows
minds filled with kaleidoscopes
of memories and paintings

free with purpose
focus and joy
loving the moments
spiritual heights employed

Infatuation
Chartruese hues surrounding wide eyes,
catching glimpses of Kaleidoscopes
while the rain smears
what's left of handprints.

I stood there, intoxicated
Which was cut short by the blow
to my lower abdomen
ten minutes prior.

Damn, heart's hurling false feelings
that we deem reality
because of inexperience
in such matters.

Failed to harden my organ though
although i wished it had.
on the other hand
i am grateful for the experience....

Colours
Colours

(Inspired by the recent race related shootings in America)

I'm in red
You're in blue
I'm 'lady in red'
You're 'boy in blue'
We're a myriad of kaleidoscopes
But colour does not define us

Tomorrow I think pink
You'll be in purple
I'm me
And you're you
Who's in black and who's in white
Colour does not define us

I'll dye my hair blue
You'll wear green lenses
I'm still me
You're still you
Colour does not define us...

Hiding In Plain Sight
Music has a special taste
feelings lost in sound
Touching heard across the room
vision by the pound

References left unto themselves
choir boys in tune
Trading what they never had
tribute to the loon

One last chance to make the grade
masks come flying off
Darwin leaving Born in chains
climbing through the moss

Menageries have come and gone
kaleidoscopes diffused
Nomenclature chameleons
—confounded and bemused

Swirls ,twirls. kaleidoscopes of color
Dreams and schemes the whole night long
Ideas unleashed, boundaries unknown
The winds of frenzy blow so strong..

Keep turning the wheel..yet one more time
My kaleidoscope gives another scene
Seeds of insanity.. tumbling shades of red
Looking and looking .. what can it mean

Hoping that reality does not preclude
The kaleidoscope of dreams I view
The madness masked in deepest sleep
Turn to brilliance? I wish I knew......

Friendship

Friendship
Smiles and embraces
The great and the small
With
Laughter
Like a close companion
Through cold whims of winter
Sends
Compassion
With arms open to catch
Tears shed like spring rains
Spreads
Joy
Spinning like autumn kaleidoscopes
Life’s story shared
By
Understanding
Hearts ‘round a bonfire on summer nights
Delighting in the paths of shooting stars
And
In ev'ry season always points up
To new views
Of the brightest North Star...
